It looks like processing into 1080 can take some time to get uploaded. I'd give it another day or two to see if it happens automatically. It may also be how you encoded the video, what format you used.

Check with youtube uploading help to make sure you're not uploading in some unrecognised format, that you're actually uploading in genuine 1080 and maybe see if there's a format like H.264 that might work better due to less processing on youtube side.

Don't want to be paying for a video editing thing just yet. Any good free ones?

Davinci resolve lite is free and has great editing features compared to any other free software. it's for colour grading but has fully blown editing functionality which is streets ahead of windows movie maker.

then use 'Avid media composer | First' when it comes out later this year, it's just a stripped down version of the very powerful full version. Resolve should tide you over until then.

Watch a lot of youtube tutorials on what's actually happening when you're rendering video just to get an idea of why you're doing it and why stuff may not work like your issue on this thread

    1. Check the cam is see if its set to record in 1080. They can be set record in lower resolutions.
    2. Double check the file on your pc by checking the properties of the file. Find the resoution property.
    3. Upload a very short 1080 clip on youtube. Set it private. Check back later to see what it's res is at.
