Not sure if its the right thread to post.

My BT sport channels are gone off my multi room box but the setanta ones are still working. BT ones just say no signal. Any ideas ??

If it says no signal it is not a problem woth your card but with signal. Try rescan for the bt channels incase of frequency change.

The channels frequencies were changed a few weeks ago although mine updated automatically.

Better of waiting for them to contact you as I and a few others have done....don't ring to cancel it looks too much like you're looking for a deal so won't get the best.....I canceled the Jun/July deal online, the email response was they're sorry to see me go but offered 12.99 if I contact them before the time runs out.....never contacted them, low and behold a week to go I get the call for 9.99 the next 2 months

How'd you cancel online? Just e-mail them?

you can ring or email. if you ring you must go through with your cancellation it takes 30 days and they will ring you back with a much better retention deal.

email setantacsire@setanta.mgtplc.com and include your account and viewing card numbers.

Bear in mind that the 30 day cancellation period only kicks in after your next billing date.

setantacsire@setanta.mgtplc.com ....that's the address I canceled with, just give the account number.....you'll get a response by mail offering a deal, hold off on that they'll then contact you by phone with a better one

I have not been a sky subscriber for a good number of years. Was thinking of signing up to Setanta/BT particularly if it is confirmed that they have La Liga rights.

Would I be correct in saying I can buy a Sky HD box on eBay/adverts/done deal? Anything I should look out for when buying - what model would be best to get? Any that should be avoided (I know the original Thomson ones were prone to failure as I had two of them)?

Once I have the box how do I subscribe? Going online I see that I need to enter a card number. As I have no viewing card currently do I need to contact them by phone to issue a card and to subscribe?

Sorry for all the questions - just want to be sure I understand before ordering.

a sky hd multiroom box will suffice

when you have your box ring setanta requesting a skycard, when it arrives contact them to pair the box with your card and thats it

U see, I've an issue with that, compared to 3 years ago, I'm paying more to watch the sane.

I only needed a sky sub, but now ud need both. So in reality customers aren't winning

my most recent experience was due to be switched off on the 26/5/15 but got a call on the 19/5/15 from 00441313483500 offering me 4 months at 9.99 a month which covers june july august and september.

my september sub is due on the 26th of august so i have to ring them before that date to give my notice and see what options are there.

You said you'd be happy to pay 10euro extra per month for it to be all on one. Setanta is only 9.99 per month if you play the game:confused:. Also every year why aren't you telling Sky your concerns that you share here and getting better prices for yourself?

Not everyone is like us here, in fact we are minority.

    Must customers pay full price

Then why are you complaining? Let them advertise full whack prices and have people pay it. That allows them to charge fair prices for people who aren't stupid

Im not sure why you keep posting this. There is no guarantee that they will call. Some people get a call, some dont.

It may help people save money so no harm in that. This is one of the busiest weeks for providers with people signing up for the football and many may be unsure about what they can get. If you don't like my posts report it or put me on ignore

they arent likely to call in such a peak trading period, what will happen is they will evaluate subscriber numbers come the end of august, people who are signing up will do it before then so they dont miss out. Setanta will start calling from them to temp the "Maybes" with a good into offer

MUFC v WBA is not live on setanta at 3pm on Nov 7th 2015 as Europa league losers West Ham v Everton is on instead

It won't affect me as I will be at the game in person

the bad selections of 3pm live games are back

Emailed them this evening and received a standard reply with an offer for €12.99 for two months within a couple of hours.

I hear some people are being offered €155 for a year, but nothing along those lines for me. Would definitely take it at that as I don't have the money otherwise.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,928 ✭✭✭dubmick

9.99 is about as much as it's worth although I'm liking BT's coverage of the Champions League.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,239 ✭✭✭irishchris

Anyone get word on setanta go. I got this last week
"No date has been set for the launch of the Setanta Web Player. It is hoped to be released mid-September. Please keep an eye on our website www.setanta.com for further announcements."

Would have thought this was mid september

They're likely full of ****. They've been promising that for months and months.

Does anyone know, if I take the €1 offer and choose HD (No Contract) €25 per month for the period after, could I still cancel before the month is out and pay no more, or try for a deal?

its a minimum 2 month contrract

so signing up today your first payment will be €1 then in 31 days they will take €25. so you ring them 12 october to cancel before the €25 is taken. they may offer you a deal then.

Great so in space of few days it's now magically end of September. What's odds of Oct 1st arriving with no player

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,239 ✭✭✭irishchris

Latest email from them - what a joke. First beginning sept, then mid sept, then end sept, now this! Don't expect to see it this season!!

"Thank you for contacting Setanta Sports.

We can confirm that we do have a new on-line player which is anticipated to launch in the next few weeks, however no exact date has yet been confirmed. For all the latest updates on this we do advise that you check our website at Setanta.com."

I was on the usual 2 month contract @ €9.99/month. Had cancelled and was due for beheading in early October but got a call from them a couple of days ago with an offer of the same again....not the beheading but :p

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,366 ✭✭✭sonofenoch

Mines due to be cut off in a couple weeks, went through the cancellation couple weeks ago so will probably get the call as he said over the phone we'll sort something out again at the end of the current deal .....don't know why they can't offer 9.99 for 4 or 6 months saves some hassle

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,366 ✭✭✭sonofenoch

Yep called today got Oct/Nov 9.99......asked about the possibility of adding for longer said they might work something out for the Winter months
