Can you not just block your drive ? That will give you two spaces

no room to park van across drive.cars on both sides park right up to the drive, can barely get the car out as it is.cheers.

The real problem is there are too few parking spaces for the numbers who wish to park. It is unlikely to improve. Old houses were built when people rarely expected more than one car per house. Now it is often three or four cars per house.......and that is the problem.

That may be the problem in suburban areas but not in the areas surrounding town. Most of them have permits now but some areas haven't got them yet and it's caused a glut of commuters parking in small areas and causing a massive nuisance. There will regularly be car alarms going off for hours in my area literally the distance of a footpath away from someone's sitting room or bedroom window.

funny thing is.this is a residential area and it has plenty of parking for residents and others, the problem is the people using is as a park and ride facility.

i dont expect to arrive home everyday and get a space outside my house, but it would be nice sometimes.

Park your van outside at night. Then in the morning, move the other car into that spot until you get home then move the car back into the garden and leave the van outside for the night.
    Problem solved!
