That wasn't the full question. It also asked about if you think politicians changed or not. So Coleraine comes into play there.

I said it showed how social aspects were changing because unionists and nationalists left their issues beside to join together and try get the university by forming the UDC. I also said it led way to the civil rights movement etc.

I was seriously Angry when Vietnam didnt come up. Its the first time since Cold war was put on that Vietnam didnt come up. I could have written a book about vietnam but didnt get the chance. I had to instead drag up an eassy for the bus boycott i learnt for a christmas test.
It was okay paper in fairness but it could have been better in my opinion

Is it okay for the GAA to do
    into - GAA
    1 GAA
    2GAA
    3 IRISH REVIVAL
    4LITERACY REVIVAL
    5LITERACY REVIVAL
    6GAA

i kind of mushed them in together with emphasis on the GAA of course but really talking about the cultural revolution ? .... I should of done Davitt tbh ..

for stalin im not sure either i used his show trials and purges and then mixed in socialist policy and education along with his killing of the kulaks but it was wishy washy towards the end ....

Do they crucify you from straying away from the question ?
Montgomery was fine and eucharistic was fine :)

Absolutely aced Hitlers foreign Policy, Montgomery Bus and the document question but I never even got to start the Northern Ireland question. Need a C3 or higher and I did a really good project so hopefully I could push maybe even a B, checked my facts when I got home and everything was spot on. God I hope the quality of my 2 essays, document and project push me into a B, honestly can't see a single thing I did wrong in any of the essays.

Lovely paper, although the Document Q3 b was presented quite like a Q1, set me off a little bit.

The Eucharistic Congress Q was the very same one in ME Collins' book, about the significance of the Congress. I just talked about how it gave the Free State some credibility, created a "catholic state for a catholic people" reputation and influenced de Valera to enshrine the Catholic moral code in the 1937 Constitution. 2 pages, 3 paragraphs plus a short intro and conclusion.

For Sovereignty and Partition I did the GAA/ suffragettes/ Sinn Féin question. I was annoyed because our teacher had skipped the suffragette movement, but I managed with just the other two. Just said the GAA brought national pride, organised and created determination in a generation of young men, and also kept people off of the streets. Stuck in a sneaky paragraph about nationalist/ church tensions too to fill up space. Just wrote 2 paragraphs on Sinn Féin, one about Griffith's economic policies and one about abstention. 5 pages total, 14 paragraphs.

For the US, I did the Berlin/ Korea/ Cuba question. Said Berlin demonstrated 1) the US were open to negotiation (at potsdam etc) 2) showed strength and determination in policy during Blockade/ Airlift and 3) made Kennedy look like a strong leader of a strong policy during the construction of the Wall. Korea was largely important for containment, despite little blips like the McArthur issue and the loss of the war. Said the troops advancing despite Chinese threats showed determination. Cuba was the same as Korea, good for containment, showed strength, had minor blips. Overall, all 3 important for creating sense credibility and strength in foreign policy. 5 pages, 15 paragraphs.

Finally, for Europe, I did the Stalin/ Mussolini Q. Discussed Cheka, NKVD, Show Trials (internal terror, external propaganda), Gulags, Great Terror, Order no. 270, general propaganda like posters for Stalin. Indoctrination, OVRA, Lateran Pacts, Squadristi for Mussolini. For both I also stuck in paragraphs about public works schemes and stuff like the Stakhanovite movement (even though that was all bull****) and claimed they used these as propagandist tools to create cults of personality. Again, 5 pages, 13 paragraphs I think.

Cumulative marks should be easy to total to 60 if I can manage about 5 marks per paragraph!
