Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This obligatory presidential handshake shíte is a serious atmosphere killer. Get the lads out, play the anthems and get on with it!

Seems to be a plan of Brady freekick/corner to Murphy's head. Little else.

Forsyth at LB looks lost. We need to target him.

Positive start, but some slack passing.

Strachan looks like a cross between Gordon Ramsey and Roy Hodgson.

    Hoofball.

Its working in fairness. I have a feeling the game plan is push the corners.

"Same kind of corner but different".

    Top gun commentary!

    Scots getting on top now.

A lot of Irish fans must have sold their tickets to Scots.... Helluva lot of them in the South lower stand.

Ronnie Whelan is difficult to listen to. His "logic" on the tackle on Naismith there was mind-boggling.

If Ireland go on to win, he'll be applauding McCarthy going in hard on Scott Brown early on, I guarantee you. Won't be a "stupid tackle" then.

    A Roy Keane style tackle.

We're so much better when we're passing the ball around.

We'll be lucky to finish the game with 11 men at this rate.

I dream of watching big matches where someone like Jonathan Wilson is co-commentating and you get explanations of tactical switches and their possible intended effects. The culture in football is to give ex-players the gig as they have been there done that etc. Sound logic but, Neville etc aside, it transpires that ex-players can be as bad if not worse to listen to than some goon down the pub.

Ireland are playing really well when they get and keep possession here, a lot of assured looking passes and pressing.

    Good show so far.

    Very very poor final balls.

Where did Glenn Pirlo come from?

Whelan spotted a green jersey amongst the 5th row of seats there and picked him out with a pinpoint pass.

How do the refs fall for that crap?

Would have been a great ball if Brady could see into the future

Ronnie Whelan lambasting Hutton for utilising foreign tactics. Hutton is foreign ya thick.

So far, I think Ireland have been swinging the blade but the edge is a bit dull.

The obsession with Hoolohan is bizarre IMO. He's not even a first choice player for Norwich and is far from the saviour some think he is.

It's even more bizarre when people say they don't see the difference he makes. He's not a saviour but his effect on the team is big.

Ridiculous amount of poor final balls. Another one from Walters there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Ireland have not played too badly so far but look to have the cutting edge of a sherry trifle up front.

FFS Whelan. Nobody able to put in a telling ball.

Abysmal delivery from set pieces and from play, really poor from some great positions.

Take Whelan off.I can't look at him any more.3 times he's had possession in good areas and he's mad ea complete balls of it each time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,128 ✭✭✭✭Oranage2

I think my first time watching Ireland since I went to the Ireland - Italy game in the euros. Truly awful stuff.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,325 ✭✭✭RoryMac

McCarthy lucky not to see red there

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,088 ✭✭✭Nib

McCarthy's been awful again, contributing nothing. Shockingly over-rated player.
