    Hey all.
Quick question for those inbthe know?

I currently use VU+ PVR addon to allow my satellite receiver be used as a backend for a few Kodi boxes around the house.
Works great and Im very happy with it.
    But.
Now I'm doing a little playing around with IPTV and Im wondering is there a way to set Kodi up to allow both PVR clients appear in the TV section as "seperate" entries?
At the moment when i set it up the 2nd pvr addon it gives a combined channel list which gets messy.

My ideal solution would be Satellite and IPTV on seperate lists that dont get combined if that makes sense?

I thought you could only use one PVR client at a time?

Have you tried changing what's getting displayed in the lists, if you go on the list of channels you should see a group of what to display, might be on the context menu
Eg. All channels, some bouquet, etc.

The Xiaomi box (international version) is on sale again on lightinthebox.

    Using one of these codes
    LITBOHOT1
    LITBOHOT2
    LITBOB1
    LITBOB2

it drops to $56.49 (roughly €48)

anyone know why when playing back from a usb stick the audio/speech stops matching up mid way through an episode of something.

Have a box with s905x, 2 gigs ram, was actually recommended on here but it's buggy as fu*k when playing back something off a stick with Kodi or VLC or whatever.

Wasn't cheap, was €70ish off amazon.

I'm guessing that the stick is USB2? If the box has an SD card port, look into getting a good quality SD card, and playing files from that.

Hi I've tried the search function but can't find much info, is anyone on here using the dreamlink t1 plus? What's the opinions on it? I've heard you can record iptv which is what I'm interested in but I can't find any sellers in Ireland

Sellers in Canada mostly, and it is decent. I bought one of the dreamlink T1 and sold it fairly quickly. Not for any other reason than it was no better than many of the emulators or even Kodi.
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dreamlink-T1-Plus-4K-HD-IPTV-Android-Set-Top-Box-Receiver-/232305090699

It boiled down to the provider, and i took advantage of somebody asking me to get them one of them. I sold her mine for €20 less than it cost me.
It is a decent box, but no more than many other decent boxes. It did not seem worth it to me. I bought it through another forum which also used to market and sell the Avov boxes, which were good until support started stopping and then they became rooted Android boxes. Still have one, but it has become fairly slow and needs a clean every now and then (One of the selling points was something about the OS being self maintaining - which seemed to be good at the start, but was no longer).

I do not think the Dreamlink is worth the money. It gets good reviews, but some of the reviews screamed at me "paid". I thought it was at best, okay.
The differences between the two - https://www.iptvinsider.com/best-set-top-box-for-iptv/

(I am pretty sure after reading elsewhere also, that it is just 4K)

Cheers for that, I'm just after starting out with a mag 256 and it's not bad but it has no record function and is the main reason I'm thinking about the new dreamlink. Why are they not for sale in Ireland?

I can not say for sure. But i believe it may have something to do with the crowd that funded the development of the box are from Canada or the U.S.
I believe them to be the same people that funded the last three similar boxes that have tried to take on MAG. They provide their own IPTV and would obviously see the advantages of providing their own box as well (like Sky and Virgin do here). But i am not sure of the legality of them in Canada.
Two of their previous boxes were developed in China and the company that made them released the same box out the back door for cheaper.:eek::eek: (China).
So this box is made in Korea (100%).
Allowing the company that subsidised the box to control distribution a little bit easier. They have decided not to sell (any of their boxes) Internationally so far. It may be too much hassle for them.
I do not know their reasons for not selling them over here, but i could guess it is legality issues.
Not that i think it matters.Emulators (on any device) can do it, including their "revolutionary new EPG" (from the T1) - just not that one, not yet.

Not sure about the Mi Box. It's an amazing price but there's no automatic refresh rate switching (no automatic res switching either?) and horrible judder on Netflix. I think the refresh rate applies to a majority of Android boxes, that's a major limitation. The bootloader is locked too so no Libreelec.

Not sure why anyone would buy an Nidia Shield as a standalone Kodi box. It's way too much considering what else is available. But it looks like a few Kodi developers are pushing it over others which is disappointing.

I've been using an ITX pc & Linux for quite some time, it has a few advantages (storage) and it has run absolutely perfectly but I'm looking for a couple of other boxes to test 4k & HDR, I want to dual boot with Libreelec (no HDR until Kodi Leia).

Does anyone have any experience with Mecool/Videlogic boxes?

What's a good airmouse if you don't need a keyboard

I just want something to move the cursor around and press Enter and maybe ESC.

Picked up one of these( http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/4284815.htm?_$ja=tsid%3A30390%7Cprd%3A7708057 ) but my tv can't read it. Anyone recommend something I can plug this into and play movies on stored on it with ease?

I wouldn't advise that Mikey, you really should get an airmouse with a keyboard as it will make your life so much easier in terms of searching for things, installing repos etc.

Personally, I use this one (although I bought it from a different seller) and find it brilliant: http://www.adverts.ie/media-players/air-mouse-remote-t6-with-keyboard/11199488

Definitely go for a airmouse and keyboard. You may not need it to often but a pain in the bollix not to have it when needed.

You could get something like this
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/VonHaus-Media-Player-Digital-Player/dp/B005ERNITE/
I am pretty sure i have seen those or similar on Chinese sites for around $10.
You will get an Android box or stick cheaper than the Amazon price, and when playing local files, they should have no problems.
You could also go for a Raspberry Pi or Orange Pi etc. and buy an airmouse. Could be handy in the future.

Most TV's use a MBR OS limiting local storage to 2TB or less, a larger drive wont run. Bear in mind your TV USB port might not have the puff to run any portable drive. Ideally, a desktop 3.5" with its own power supply or a portable with a powered hub should be used.

Most HDMI based Media players wont play a 4TB USB either - that VonHaus has a recommended max. of 1TB. The Sumvision micro 4 should do the job well - though not H265/HEVC or 4K capable, it will play virtually all HD and audio formats and give you future networking options also. I've used the recently withdrawn Micro 2+ for years flawlessly - once you adjust to the narrow beam remote.

Your other alternative as Suckit suggests is an Android box which gives you plenty of media playing options and Smart TV, streaming, kodi etc. - but not a reliable means of using that external HD (I've heard they work with a Nvidia Shield and a powered hub, but at that price it should).

Probably not the test but seems like a cheap and cheerful box.

Before you think about pulling the trigger on that, have a look at this
    http://www.geekbuying.com/item/TANIX-TX3-MINI-KODI-17-3-S905W-2gb-16GB-4K-TV-Box-384467.html

They (S905W) are to compete with the RK3229 (which is better imo) on price and spec. The RK3229 can be found around the same price often.

Would you not get stung for customs from Gearbest or Geekbuying?

I was not recommending Gearbest (i can not stand them), that was the previous post(er).
But to answer anyway, yep you would if over a certain amount (€22).
But they will not collect vat if it is €6 or under (negligible value). The Geekbuying VAT would be €6.13, so i can not imagine that they would collect on it, especially with currency exchange rate fluctuation. Technically they could but you would have to be very unlucky, and your item would have to cross the path of the most determined vat collector ever to have existed.

    http://www.revenue.ie/en/customs-traders-and-agents/documents/guide-to-importing-goods-through-the-post.pdf
    11.
    Consignments of Negligible Value (€22)
Consignments not exceeding an intrinsic value of €150 may be imported from outside
the EU without payment of Customs Duty. (Intrinsic value is the value of the goods
alone and does not include insurance and freight). Consignments not exceeding a total
customs value of €22 may be imported without payment of VAT. (Customs value or CIF
value is the value of the goods plus insurance and freight (which includes postage
    costs).
However, there is no relief for importations of tobacco, tobacco products,
alcohol products, perfumes or toilet waters irrespective of their value
    .
VAT liability amounting to less than or equal to €6 will not be collected.
    No similar rule
    applies in the case of
    Customs Duty or Excise Duty.

So in this case, no. I do not imagine it would get stopped for any charges.

Getting back to remotes, if you have kids who constantly drop remotes then this is the remote for you! I have two of them for over three years and can't recommend them enough!

If I need a box then I will most probably go with S912 boxes.
