Lads, anywhere to get a box delivered by xmas? I'm actually just thinkin about getting one as a gift for a family member.
I know a Chinese site that I got one off last year but unless they're shipped from their EU warehouse. I doubt they'll arrive on time.

Try Adverts. There's loads of reputable sellers there (just read the comments) and with the delivery, customs charges and An Post "handling fee", there's not really much of a difference to be honest - just shop around and you'll be fine. :)

setup kodi on whatever device(s) you currently have and go from there. this is the main program used on android boxes. plenty of info on youtube etc. very clunky clicky technology but does work well when properly setup. but try it before you fork out cash on a box.

I got one of these boxes and am generally very happy apart from one thing. When the box starts I get this message " es file explorer recommend this application for you" problem is that it's accompanied by a pornographic picture  not great when the missus wants to watch Strictly come dancing. I have never used the box for porn so don't know where it came from. How do I stop this from appearing???

Download an adblocker for the box, box is rooted so you will have plenty options.

    Amazon.co.uk

Make sure it's not being shipped from China. There are tons of them now and it's getting harder to spot them. Amazon should have some sort of notification or something to tell people it's being shipped from China.
    Delivery dates will lie.

Have many here setup the Fire Stick with Kodi? Does it run well? Thinking of ordering from Currys for Xmas.
Also, does it play through an Xbox One? Short on HDMI ports on the TV!

    Thanks in advance!

This might of assistance to some people here who are looking to purchase a box: http://www.tvaddons.ag/winter2015-androidtv/
    http://www.tvaddons.ag/christmas-2015-ideas/

My own personal preference would be the Minix Neo X-8H Plus. I've a couple of them and it's the best box available. In my opinion anyway, but each to their own and all that.... :pac::cool:

Is it the S802H or S812H variant you have?

I've no idea to be honest! :pac: It's this one - http://www.adverts.ie/tv/minix-x8-h-plus-quad-core-2gb-ram-16gb-rom-xbmc-fully-loaded/7130022 What's the difference between the two anyway?

No, not really. It's all down to the quality of the stream and what your device can handle. For example, most pc's are only capable of giving you SD quality (unless you have a top of the range full HD one, which the majority of people don't have) so if you watch a 1080 HD stream on it, you're not getting the full quality - you're only getting what the device is capable of outputting. Whereas if you have a box that can process full 1080 HD streams, you will get the full quality - provided that your tv is full HD, of course. So, in short, the quality depends on what you device you use to open the stream and what device you actually watch it on. Man, I explained that badly! :o:pac:

    Just £10 lol
The S802H is on Amazon for £89.90 and the S812 for £90.90, not sure what performance difference as both chips are meant to play H.265

Decided on buying a Pi2 over next few days. Really like Open Elec so be good to see official builds rather than forks of OE.

£48 delivered for a kit form Pi Hut so happy with the price.

    S802 can play 4k but not H.265
    S805 can play H.265 but not 4k
    S812 can play both

    BandMembers is S812
