Was thinking the same thing myself. I'd say the draw towards cod has dipped a lot in recent years, especially with DLC. Anyone I know that plays them doesn't buy the DLC as the maps are never any good, and they usually trade in the game after a month or so.

Saying that, I did enjoy black ops 2 a lot.

Didn't they say before it would be a massive commitment in both time and money, I would assume they were testing the waters to see if people were really that bothered with it, saw people were and got cracking

Most likely it's to give Nomura something to do after he was forcibly taken off ff versus 13 after not delivering a game after 9 years. I fully expect it never to come out. Probably for the best since Nomura hasn't been the director of a good game yet and it's all gone a bit grim dark totally missing the weird humour that set the original apart. This is the moron that gave us the dreadful advent children after all.
