Walcott would never have scored that.

    Giroud 1 from 2
    Walcott 1 from 4.

But would giroud have taken Theo's chance? Doubt it. At least they're 2 very different options

things could be worse in the striker department.

United are starting Fellani up front today

Speaking of deliveries, not 100% sure but I think 15 corners todays? Maybe 1 good delivery and at least 4 of them turned into Stoke counters.

Indeed. I made a big thing about it a couple weeks ago and every set piece goal scored in the league has backed me up. It's not about having 7 foot monsters to score from a set piece....its about the delivery. You whip it in, at pace between the posts.....and you will score a bucket of goals throughout the season.

Fare to say shortage of strikers in EPL today. Lot's getting injured

Cazorla and Monreal exceptional again today too it mustvbe said. Coquelin man of the match.

Walcott would never have scored that.

    Giroud 1 from 2
    Walcott 1 from 4.

Both goals today summed up what they bring to the team in their own way. Neither are really good enough but they both bring something different at least.

Butland has stopped this from being a 5 or 6 nil.

Coq today Is the definition of a 10/10 performance. Shoutout to Bellerin and Carzola aswell

How does a ref miss that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,651 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Should have had a penalty there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,945 ✭✭✭omega man

    3 points
    Both CFs scored
    Clean sheet

Perfect and with rivals dropping points even sweeter

  • Administrators, Computer Games Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,435 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭Mickeroo

ffs, should be a peno but never given.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,526 ✭✭✭✭MEGA BRO WOLF 5000

Cech had nothing to do today and we should have had at least 4 today. 3 points in the bag though happy days!

pretty happy with that. Prob should have had more goals but was a solid performance.

Its good that Kos and Gab dont look too bad together either.

    Coq was brilliant again.

Cant wait for Chelsea next week!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,435 ✭✭✭wandatowell

City scored in the '90 minute.

    Who jinxed it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,342 ✭✭✭Bobby Baccala

Who got man of the match? Was coquelin for me, he deserves an absolute testimonial on match of the day later after that performance

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,467 ✭✭✭5star02707

Coq should be man of the match

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,945 ✭✭✭omega man

Into 2nd for now at least

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,333 ✭✭✭bad2dabone

That was a very high level performance lads against a decent side who were shut down.
Obviously it should have comfortably been four nil or more but we can be happy with that heading into the match vs Zagreb.
    Good stuff.

A centre half should score a chance like that. For a striker to miss is unforgivable. I suppose he's just on the pitch though. Has to get a few touches to get into the game.
in his defence he'd seen how well Butland was playing and wanted to get it as close to the post as possible

He still should have scored though

Think that's 8 or 9 wins in a row at home against Stoke, still fully expect us to lose the away tie though :-/

Most predictable results of the season. Win at home to Stoke, lose away.

Could finish Chelsea's title defense next week. Nice little incentive.

It's as good as over at this stage I think, city are gonna walk the league

Loved Gab smashing your man in the face

We need a cûnt in the team

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,986 ✭✭✭Soups123

    Great win, good performance

CB pairing looks very promising, if we keep creating chances like today someone is in for a real hiding

    Hopefully Chelsea next week

ah its far from over. Ive seen enough to think we could challenge.

City are rightly favorites but id put us next.

    Good stuff.

    I'm bookmarking this post! :)

Ashley young doing what he does best for United's goal. Shame I was hoping to be ahead of them at the end of today. Weird feeling hoping Liverpool score. But they really are garbage.

I was referring to Chelsea's title challenge being as good as over, not ours

I do think we can come close but I reckon it's city's this year

Anyway, lots to look forward to MOTD tonight. A day when we win, Chelsea, Liverpool and Stoke lose... And City's biggest threat limps off... Not that we should gloat in other's misery! I sincerely hope they start to credit Coq for his displays. I felt he was immense today. He's getting better and better.

Coq was magnificent today. Genuinely if we'd spent 30m on him he'd be worth it in this market.
We did get very very lucky with him cos he was out the door!

Or did Wenger do what he used to do years ago. Unearth a great talent? I know he was on loan, but we have a lot of our young talent on loan... Maybe AW knew? Maybe?

Nah. It was just fluke!!! ;-)

Is this out first Saturday MOTD?
