It wasn't just about resting players either. Some of those that played on Weds need game time. They could be called upon at any time due to injury, suspension or poor form.

Plenty of reserve football for them surely.
Anyway I expected no more than 2 changes for last Wed.
6 was either madness or an attempt by Wenger to show the fans how strong the panel is after all the guff he got when he failed to add any outfield players in the summer.
Either way it back-fired big time on him.

Only the U21 league. Plenty of training matches but that's not the same

You're right, so fees owed to Arsenal haven't been paid and they don't count towards the cash reserves. However what was claimed was £65million in clauses, which sounds like complete rubbish.
