Some of those lodge challenges were rage inducing

Yeah. To be honest, I found the best strategy for most of them was just throw all tactics out the window and just run and gun and run again. Jump into the middle of a swarm of machines and just kill the one you're supposed to kill, then run the f*ck away.
I haven't bothered with lodge challenges. Doing nearly all the other side quests and errands though. Don't know how I didn't cope that with the hawks before. Suppose they're the machine variant of vultures.

The lodge challenges are definitely tricky, but they do unlock some pretty strong weapons. But you're right, almost all the machines are based on animals/birds. The Glinthawks are vultures.

There was a reason I did them. Don't they give up shiny new weapons? Did them all but never got around to platinuming this. Keeps saying I should get this done. Missing one around the all allies trophy. I think.

Yeah, you unlock some Lodge variant of some of the weapons, think they might have extra mod slots or better stats.

I missed the all allies trophy too for a while. It was only when searching for collectibles that I discovered I hadn't been to one or two settlements on the map (as you don't have to go to them during the main story or side missions). Going to them unlocked new side missions/errands and I guess one or two of the characters in those missions became the additional allies I needed for the all allies trophy.

I started a new game but struggled to get into it on a second playthrough. Wonder if my old game save is still around or was it overwritten? If it's there I can mop up the last trophy. Otherwise I have to do it all again.

Usually when you save at a campfire, you can choose a save slot. So your old save won't have been automatically overwritten, but you may have overwritten it yourself.

That said if you're not too far into your second playthrough, maybe play New Game + so you have all your weapons etc from the start. You'd probably fly through most of the game quick enough and wouldn't need to do any of the unnecessary side missions/errands (bar ones that count towards the allies trophy).

Ah man this game is brilliant. I've just killed the
Behemoth and escaped the sunring. I cheered like a madman when sylens (Lance Reddicks character) galloped into the ring on the strider.
. Been ages since I got so invested in a games story this much.

I finished the DLC then last night. Just in time for God of War. Don't think I have a NG+ in me on ultra hard.

Game can be cruel at times. Meeting somebody to escort a young King. Had to take on 2 Rockbreakers. Bastards. Very very low on health but relieved its over. Nope, few humanoid enemies and corrupted watchers. Take them down easily. Well thank Christ that's over coz I really need to go farming for health. Nope. Here's a corrupted Thunderjaw. I honestly don't know how I got past this part with half health and no healing items.

I kinda wanna finish this and get into God of War. Just killed a deathbringer, a few corrupters, a corrupted Thunderjaw and now have to go into the matriarchs. Am I nearly done on the main campaign? Still have a few side missions.

If I remember right, there are still two main story missions, so a couple of hours would likely finish it off if you feel you're a high enough level and have enough shards for resources to prevent having to free roam and collect stuff yourself.

Coming up to the last 2 missions. Loved it. Much preferred it to Witcher 3 which I found far too deep and with an almost unusable UI. It's not even far off Zelda league IMO.

Quick question though, do I need ancient armour to do the last battle? I have 2 cores but think I read somewhere you actually need 5 to unlock it. I'm assuming I'll find out soon enough, but is it a requirement to be able to do the battle?

No, it's not a requirement. You can finish off the last encounter without it. The big BUT to that statement is, the ancient armour makes it more survivable. The shield generated by it does help.

If you have 2 out of 5 cores, you may well go for the other 3. They don't take that long to get. Just google a map of their locations.

Guerilla games apparently going on a hiring spree for an unannounced game :)

Sweet, cheers! So that dork who appears every so often isn't gonna tell me where the last 3 are? Damn him! :D I might give it a bash without, can always grab it later if it's a struggle.

Hmmm. Hopefully that's for HZD2. If it's Killzone, hopefully they do better than Shadow Fall. Just couldn't get into it.

If you've got this far without it then just fire ahead and finish the campaign, the armour is handy for farming mats but any encounter feels better without it in my opinion anyway.

You mean Agent Broyles / Commander Zavala / Charon. No he won't give any info on the Cores

Kicked that death bringer's ass without the armour anyway (after a few deaths and running out of time the loading screen kindly hinted me in the direction of the fact fire made the big bugger overheat :pac: ).

Thoroughly enjoyed it! Put some amount of hours into it. Finished up on level 40, I've had my fill of that universe for the time being anyway.

Never watched it so not at the forefront of my Lance Reddick knowledge.

When your up for more of it (if you haven't already played it) the Frozen Wilds DLC is a pretty good addition to the world.

I wonder if one of the writers had a Saturn when they were younger as the story and setting is just a poor man's version of Panzer Dragoon. There's a lot of similar elements.

I do wonder what it would take for you to admit when a new AAA/IP is just .... good, without having to knock it down with some reference to an older game. Has the story type been done before? Yes. Who cares? Many people have found the game (and others) enjoyable without the references to games from the 80's and 90's.

Stop putting words in my mouth to suit your own petty agenda please. What I said has nothing to do with how good or bad the game is. For your information it think aHorizon is a good game, probably the best example of the Ubisoft open world format but it's a format I'm bored of since Zelda has kind of spoiled those types of games for me.

As for who cares, I do. I think it's interesting that so many elements are similar. Would be interesting if the writer got their inspiration from it. The monsters and world are very similar in how they came about and how they exist now in the world. The AI computer system plot also bears a lot of resembles to the sestren system from Saga and orta. Could just be a coincidence but there's a lot of similarity and would be interesting to know if there was an influence.

I honestly didn't find a huge gap between it and your precious Zelda. But I did much prefer Wind Waker to BOTW. All brilliant games though.

Shur isn't every game a copy of another game? Very few new ideas for gameplay, because everything has basically been done. It's all down to the story and how the game plays now. God of War (PS4) is the best game I have played since the Legacy of Kain series, but it's a copy of a copy of a copy. What they did with HZD (and GoW) is make the same experience better.

Agreed every game is influenced by another game & so on etc Great game though Horizon with a really interesting story, not an easy thing to do in an open world game

You called it a poor man's panzer dragoon.

Calling anything a poor man's (insert here) is a negative comparison.
    And what's his petty agenda?

Still at least you didn't try to ban him for it so that's an improvement.
