Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sevilla fairly dominant after a cagey start, think they gave Molde way too much respect.

Klose scoring in a 3-1 win for Lazio.

Would be great to see him go far in Europe in his last season.

    Lazio to beat Sparta Prague
    Dortmund to beat Spurs

Well that obviously isn't the case for Liverpool. After the Cup Final on Sunday, the only thing left to play for is the EL.

Funny how the EL suddenly become a very important trophy again.

As a neutral it will be interesting to watch 2 of Englands big clubs battle it out, as I think winning the EL is their only hope of CL football next season.
The fact that both of them are so poor might add to the spectacle.

I'm a United fan and I certainly don't want to see us knocked out, least of all by LFC.

It's probably both teams only realistic chance of CL next year and when the round is finished there will be some very good teams gone.

I do get what you are saying though, if given the option at the start of a season to have EL or not I'd likely plump for not, doesn't mean I don't want us to win it now that we are in it.

I do expect us to get knocked out though, however once we give the tie a proper go, like we did last night then I will be happy enough.

Should be fun on here the night of the second leg. Lot of Liverpool and United fans on here, fresh from "celebrating" Paddy's Day and wishing each other all the best for the game. Can't wait!

Yeah can't wait to see all those proud Irish men online fighting and calling each other cnuts over 2 English football teams.

Must remember not to be in Derry that night, I'm sure there will be the odd street fight after the final whistle.

Sounds like my idea of hell. Last time I was in a pub for a United and Liverpool match there were fellas in those Norwich protest scarfs moaning about foreigners ruining the price of tickets for proper fans. Then there were blokes from the other side chanting Steve Gerard, Gerard in a Scouse accent. All the while the United fans called them bin dippers while the 'scousers' called them Manc b*astards, in Dublin City centre. Mix all that in with Paddy's day? Best of luck to whoever can handle that!

Ah ok yeah, I just make stuff up for the craic. What part don't you specifically believe? You don't think people go on like that?! It was around four or 5 years ago.

Edit: it was four years ago and I posted about it here. 60 odd people seemed to agree with me then funnily enough! http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=86342419&postcount=23

You stuffed that post full of quotes from the barstooler's cliché handbook 4 years ago too IMO, only this time it has picked up a few more tidbits on the way.
I would guess you may have seen something cringey that annoyed you and it has grown into a taller tale every time you tell it, in the same way a snowballing, small town rumour would.

Really, you've nothing to base not believing that on other than an unwillingness to believe it. You talk about in a later post about those things being clichés, they didn't become clichés out of nowhere, I assure you.

I wasn't there so I've no solid idea whether any of those things happened, but based on my 29 years on this planet among some of the more crazy of the Irish United and Liverpool fanbase, I would have no problem believing it.

When you have every cliché in the book it tends to be a bit unbelievable.

Just think about it for a minute, bringing green and gold scarves to the pub and complaining about ticket prices on behalf of the real fans? Really? I've never seen anybody bring any sort of football scarf to the pub.

I remember the last time I went to a LOI game. They told me to piss off because I wasn't a regular, threw a pigs head onto the pitch at their traitor ex-player and all met up after the match and kicked the crap out of each other down a side street.
    Never again.

I get your point here, but there is a hell of a lot more of the stereotypical Irish Liverpool and Man United fan being discussed than there is the stereotype you're discussing above (there's also a lot more Liverpool and United fans than LOI too so that's also some part of it without doubt).

I've never seen someone being told to piss off at a LOI game, and I only know one instance of the pigs head, but the United and Liverpool crazies show their face on every Derby day.

I would have no problem believing a few of the things Omackeral mentioned had he said he seen them over the course of his lifetime but all in one day? For one match? No way.

That's the whole bloody point of the post. That's exactly what happened. It's pathetic and odd as f*ck hence I posted it. Read through that full thread and you'll see numerous other accounts of similar behaviour. I don't make stuff up for the sake of it.
