Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Many people here going to the Lord's test? Didn't think I'd be able to get to it but now seriously considering booking a flight

Me too! Day 1 and 2, really hoping for good weather and an exciting first two days.

First T20I with Zimbabwe delayed due to rain.

Play was due to start at 12:30 and it's not looking too promising.

Delaney and Greg Thompson in team today

A second rain delay in this match. The weather gods not in favour of this T20 series anyway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,579 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

69/2 after 7. Delaney first over goes for 16

Young takes another. 127/6 two balls left

  • Registered Users Posts: 729 ✭✭✭wicorthered

There's a touch of the Peter Chase in Mark Adairs bowling. Takes wickets but bowls way too many boundary balls. We just can't seem to handle it when teams throw the bat about.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,579 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

132/8 in the end. Target will be higher though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,579 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

How under rated is Paul Stirling? Genuine world class talent. Finally adding the consistency to his game. Mad no IPL teams have taken him on.

He's very good, and I have criticized him in the past, especially when you see some of the T20 donkeys that keep getting signed up. Good win today, the team is in good form

Surprised to see we got there, and then lost from there, and badly too. What went wrong today with the bowling?

Any idea when the exact dates and locations will be released for Ireland's fixtures next summer? Some very exciting matches ahead. Am guessing end of the year?

    England squad to face Ireland:

    Joe Root (capt)
    Moeen Ali
    James Anderson
    Jonny Bairstow
    Stuart Broad
    Rory Burns
    Sam Curran
    Joe Denly
    Lewis Gregory
    Jack Leach
    Jason Roy
    Olly Stone
    Chris Woakes

Stokes & Buttler rested, no sign of Archer. But Anderson is fit enough to be in the squad at least, and Roy looks set to make his test debut.

Dear God, 37 forecast for London on Thursday.

Is that a first innings prediction. I'm pretty sure we can do a bit better.

I rang the Lord's ticket office earlier and had my day 2 Compton upper tickets swapped for Mound Lower. The view won't be as good but I doubt I'd have lasted long in 38 degree heat with no cover.

Stupidly agreed to work today. Only remembered a few seconds after the phone call about the Test Match.

Win the toss, bowl first. Don't care about the sun, you always bowl first at Lords.. The only chance of getting wickets is against this struggling top order and guys suffering from a world cup hangover. The pitch is green, it might not swing too much after the first 5 overs but that will be the only chance they get.

is tms available in ireland for this

Hope Stu Thompson has another good test match, was very impressed with his all round performance against Pak and then a solid effort with the ball in Dehradun (Economy of 1.6). At the age of 27 he is one of few players who isn't over the hill or just coming into the international set up.

With tomorrow potentially the hottest day on record in the UK you'd want to be batting then really. It's a tough one though, if you put them in today you really need to have them out by lunch tomorrow at the latest. With the gap between the teams they could easily bat two days and you've toiled in the field in that heat the entire time.

England win toss and will bat
