I must check these out. They appear to be good value.

Let us know what you think of it. Sometimes I wonder if I'm just fooled into thinking it's nice by the great price! I this case however I reckon I'm right.

That is lovely. Finish it tomorrow though as the top goes off fairly quickly. It's still perfect but the odd bits of green have to be picked off if it's left for more than a day.

Good to know! (And good to have an excuse to polish it off in one sitting) :D

I wonder how that would take to being frozen???

There's only me to eat it, and the danger of me actually scoffing the lot in one sitting is fairly high if it's as nice as it sounds!

I've kept mine in the fridge since I bought it, and it's still good today. (2 days since we bought it) :)

The have six-packs of mousse, strawberry and chocolate - haven't tried the strawberry but the chocolate ones are very nice.

I'm sure there's not a nanogram of anything even vaguely nutritional in them, but for a nice light sweet treat after dinner, they're great!

They have Sicilian Lemon Posset in the fridge section with the desserts/yoghurts and it is divine! There’s a chocolate/salted caramel one too I think https://groceries.aldi.co.uk/en-GB/p-specially-selected-sicilian-lemon-posset-90g/4088600322148

There's a recipe in the cooking club here for a lemon and passion fruit posset. It is honestly the easiest dessert you'll ever make, it's almost cheating. Any time I've made it people rave about it.

Buy 2/4/6 of the aldi ones and you have your ramekins for the homemade one.

We bought a lovely apple cake there yesterday. I think it's called Graínne's? It's in a rectangular box..it's nicely filling (quite heavy) and is moist which I find unusual for a pre-packed cake. Lovely apple pieces in it, and a nice sugary coating on the top, without being too sweet. We've half it gone already :D

Can't post pic but here is a link that shows it

    https://groceries.aldi.ie/en-GB/ALDIIE/p-apple-crumble-cake-400g-grainnes/4088600269337

Got this today - and very disappointed!

A few of us tried it, and it was nice enough madeira cake, if a teeny bit stodgy - but not a single piece of apple was found by anyone in it, and I thought there was a slightly artificial taste off it.

In fairness, it was up against a homemade lemon drizzle cake, which was always going to be an unfair contest - but I won't be buying it again.

Oh that’s excellent to know, I will have to give it a go!

Anyone I got had loads of apple. You must have got the runt of the litter.

    ...runt of the litter.

    :D

We'd a lovely sweet chilli chicken pizza yesterday from Aldi. Now, it is on the sweet side, but there's a nice kick too, and the peppers and red onion on it are lovely. Added a bit of our own cheese as their cheese topping seemed sparse enough :)

Heading to Aldi later, wondering which of the pizzas is the nicest? I have run out of the pepperoni 'Saturday Pizzas" . I saw a stone baked one there if anyone has tried it? I prefer thin based

The non alcoholic strawberry and lime cider is delish. It's called Norrsken. Lovely on an evening like this evening, out of the fridge ice cold.
    Yum.

I'm a big fan of their stuffed crust pizzas. About €2.50, good amount of toppings and the crust is great.

    Fair play.

Anyway, I've tried several of the Wild About products, also the Frothing Ferments Kombucha drinks and would recommend both.
Did have the Mama Bear Foods ketchup before but I found it very sweet.

I'd be very interested to try the gyoza.

I would love to try some of the above but the prices are too crazy for me to sample. If I didn't like something I would hate to throw it out.
Hilden are a very good brewery and were one of the first on the Irish craft beer scene.

I did have the Tipperary Whiskey Ice-Cream and I think I rather liked it but it may have being a novelty also.

Is the Bramwells curry powder tin comparable to the McDonnells one? Not expecting an exact match but whether its in the same ballpark.

I got the Bramwells after seeing that post (I also got Dunnes own brand by accident thinking it was McDonnells one), and had it tonight, I wasn't expecting the sweet taste that I got initially (got used to it), but i thought it was nice :)

I haven't tried any of those curry powders before, so I can't compare the Lidl, Dunnes, McDonnells etc..

But am happy I got it :)
Dunnes one is much better.:o
I don't really use them that often, hence the gap in between posts. But the Dunnes one is much better - unanimous vote tonight in this house.

The only other one I have left to try, is the McDonnells Chinese Curry, which may be a while before I have it.

I have only ever seen the alcohol one: https://groceries.aldi.ie/en-GB/p-premium-fruit-cider-strawberry-and-lime-500ml-norrsken/4088600013138

Is the non alcoholic version new? Will definitely check it out as I've been looking for non alcohol options

It's typically outside the alcohol barriers near the till at the end of the alcohol aisle. I only noticed it about a month or so ago.

Might be too late now but I'd recommend making your own with the aldi products.
The pack of 2, stone baked pizza bases in the fridge.
Pizza sauce in the same section as all the tomato products.
A miserly sprinkle of the grated mozzarella.
Some of the real mozzarella, thinly sliced and scattered over.
    Whatever else you like.
We have these every few weeks and they're easily the best pizza we've ever cooked at home. The oven takes longer to heat up than it does to make the 2 of them.

+1 for these bases, and the equivalent is twice the price elsewhere. Good for using up leftovers too if there's a bit of chicken needs using up etc. We keep a bag of frozen peppers in the freezer (69c in Lidl but I'm sure Aldi have equivalent) and they're lovely thrown onto it :)

Any recommendations for gluten/dairy free items there?

    Thanks.

I think the prices are quite excellent for small producers. The White Mausu peanut rayu is €7.99 in my local deli, for instance, so if the one on that list is any good, €3.99 is a bargain.
