    Does anybody know if there are some public walks you can go along around the castle? Or maybe can recommend some good walking spots for a nice evening in the area?

    I can't help. But I think this is probably one for Dublin West as opposed to here.

    Porterstown Park is a couple of minutes away, beside St Mochta's Church.

    It's not the most exciting walk but is a big open park, a lap of the park is about 3km if I remember right.

    Of course the Farmleigh entrance to Phoenix Park is pretty close too.

    The Estate
    The scale and maturity of Luttrellstown Castle’s extensive Demesne allows a complete escape from the stress and care of daily life. It is possible to spend tranquil hours walking the woods and parkland, exploring and enjoying the many unique attractions of this historic estate.

    Close to the castle is the formal walled garden with its special rose display, an apple orchard and a delightful arboretum with over 300 types of exotic trees and plants.

    In the glen, which runs down to the River Liffey, a romantic Blind Arch from the 1780’s spans the carriage driveway and a classical Doric Temple of the same vintage stands overlooking the lake and an enchanting waterfall.

    The ruins of a splendid Gothic folly provide an added attraction.

    The 20-acre lake situated close to the castle is ideal for angling and boating, whilst the tranquil woodlands is wonderful for horse-riding. (See Activities section for more information)
