When trying to authorise a payment using the new BOI BOL system, I get a notice saying "Your digital certificate is currently initialising. This process takes up to two minutes ..."

Several minutes later, the following error appears "Error - Your digital certificate has failed to load. Please click on the following link ..." when I follow the link, it doesn't appear to have anything useful on this error condition.

I've tried to get help on this from the support telephone line ... and from the support email ... so I'm trying this method for completeness.

I've read the FAQs ... I'm running Windows 7 Pro, IE11, and Java is up to date ... any suggestions?

    Hi stocktrader,

Thanks for getting in touch with us here on Boards.ie

Sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties loading your digital certificate, as Business Online uses the latest version of Java you may need to check what version you have installed and update this if necessary.

You can check www.java.com for the latest version (you should uninstall any older versions that you have already before installing the latest version).

We also have a help & support section for Business Online here which you may find useful.

I hope this helps, let me know if you need any further assistance with this.

    Thanks
    Nicola

I am having the same problem using Chrome and Firefox.

If you managed to get the issue resolved could you post the resolution steps?

Chrome doesn't support Java anymore, so you'll have to get it working in Firefox (or the dreaded IE).

When I've have this problem it's been it of date Java, but it's a pain as the error message didn't simply say 'Java is out of date', which it used to do.

Wish they moved away from Java with the redesign, like Revenue is doing.

Just encountered the same problem - using Windows 10 and Microsoft Edge (upgrading automatically wipes IE). It doesn't support Java either. Surely the online banking redesign should have taken account of the rapidly diminishing browsers supporting Java? Very poor planning.
