First time PC build, need help.

1. What is your budget? = €600-700 (If possible)

2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? = Gaming, and for programming I am going to college for Computer Science so i will more then likely be downloading codeblocks and other programs.

2a. Games most likely played: = Only Minecraft

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? = Yes

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? = No

5. Do you need a monitor? = Yes

6. Do you need any of these peripherals? = ??

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? = Not really

8. How can you pay? = Credit Card

9. When are you purchasing? = Before Christmas

10. If you need help building it, where are you based? = I should be ok.


Additional Information:
I wanted to ask if you would recommend saving up and buying all parts together at once, or if its ok to buy them according to me having the money?

Does each component come with the relevant cables or do I need to Purchase some individually.

I am confident I can physically build it but when it comes to matching all the right parts and knowing whats compatible is my downfall.

I'm sure digital solitude will be along in a minute with a parts list for you.

However the motherboard should have most of the data cables you need for hard drives optical drives etc...
The psu will have the power leads you need unless you go way overboard.

The only downside to buying bit by bit is that you will pay every time for delivery if you order all at once one delivery price. Especially when case and monitor equal bigger package and higher shipping cost better only doing it once.

Total is €455, should be more than enough for your needs. Shout if you think you'd need 16gb RAM or an i5 processor, or a better case. You won't be stretching the budget regardless.

You can also turn it into a full on gaming PC for another €150-200 if you wanted.

I recommend picking up a decent mech keyboard for €100 or so, you'll appreciate it once you start typing.

Just seen you're buying before Christmas, as Terror said in an earlier thread not much point in pricing now as prices change daily. That machine would be good to go whenever, might be suitable to buy now as its cheaper than you expected though. As for your questions, Ant is stop on

Yeah I would like to go for 16gb RAM just save to me upgrading later on, and if I were to go for the i5 would it still be compatible with the other components you listed?
Yeah i'm thinking once I have the PC bought ill look at buying a good keyboard and mouse then.
You said for an additional €150/200 it would be a proper gaming PC, what parts would need upgrading.

The i5 is the same socket type as the i3 so all would be the same.

The extra that ds mentioned would be for a graphics card as there isn't one listed and that would also require a larger power supply.

i5 4460 is the i5 you want I'd say, no need in a 4690k

€200 graphics card would make it a better gaming machine than PS4/Done, even with the i3.
You can always add one at a later date, shout if you want it now.

There's no need to buy an expensive graphics card if you're only playing Minecraft in terms of gaming.

You could also consider getting a decent AMD APU Processor, which means you don't need a dedicated graphics card, the onboard graphics is 300% faster than Intel's integrated graphics.

For example the A10-7700K is €120, so it's the same price as the i3 but offers triple the graphics performance in games. It would be perfect for Minecraft and other similar games.

You can always add a dedicated card in down the line if you need to either. The 7700K would be a bit slower than the i3 for heavy usage but for day to day usages, general tasks, programming it is fine.

There's the AMD CPU if you wanted to opt for it, realistically no difference in day to day. If you want it, just drop the i5 and ASRock motherboard from above
