    Hi,
Can anyone recommend a bakery that do nice birthday cakes that don't cost €50+ and are nicer than the standard 'Dunnes/Tesco' mass produced, standard cakes?
Cake would be for about 15 kids, maybe butterfly, flowers, ladybirds design.
Currently I'm going to check O Heirs bakery in Briarhill.
    Cheers,
    Pa

Not great though and usually ridiculously overpriced for everything. M&S cakes are a far higher quality than Dunnes, Tesco.

Thanks but I checked their website and you're talking €57.50 for a 10" celebration cake (feeds 16-20 people).

    Nice, cheap, customized.

    Pick any two.

    Pick any two.
Not cheap, just not very expensive €50+
Not customised ; just not a bog standard €10 Dunnes/Tesco cake.

Did you try Goyas? Not sure of prices but their cakes are delicious.

Have heard good things about Sugar and Spice. Not too sure about their prices though.

Cant post links. Look up SugarandSpicePantry on Facebook.

Another +1 for O' Connors in Salthill. I don't normally do dessert / cake, but when I do... tasty :D

3 options. Factory made ie Dunnes etc, full of crap but very cheap.
Big bakery made, probably mass produced using packet mixes and hand finished. Medium price.
And custom made by cake decorator. Usually made with quality ingredients, hand finished to your specification. Takes a few hours to make, hence relevant price.
If you do get a 10" custom made cake for under €50, (and it's not from a bakery) chances are the person is neither health board approved nor tax registered.
