    Gents

Friend looking for a 47 to 50 inch (nearer 50inch the better). No interest in 3D and not bothered about smart. Decent screen for sports and would love 4k. Budget in and around €800.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks
    John

Hi Higster, thanks for your message

To be honest we don't have any 4k sets in and around the €800 budget in that size, you'd be looking at the Samsung 48JU6400 - http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-201229-ue48ju6400.aspx at €999

If he can live without 4k, there are 2 very good screens worth looking at

    Panasonic 50CS520b - http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-201258-viera-tx50cs520b.aspx at €839
    or
    Panasonic 50as650 - http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-200553-viera-tx50as650b.aspx - just reduced to €849

Of the 2 I would say the AS650 would be the better for him. Although he isn't interested in 3d, the fact it has 3d means it has a better processor which improves the picture quality of standard HD signal also. It also has a faster refresh rate, which makes a smoother picture on faster moving images like sport/football

All of these screens are available from stock for delivery, so if he'd like to order, or if something else grabs your eye on the site, drop me a pm with contact details and I can get it sorted for you

    Regards
    Brian

Thats interesting.Im looking for something similar. Can you tell me who the manufacturer of the panels in the Panasonic's are?

    Hi Magentis,

For the majority of their panels, Panasonic would still make their own panels. I believe there are a few of the very entry level/budget screens that they buy in the panels but Certainly anything in the 500 range and above they use their own

    Cheers

    Hi Peteb2,

for your budget of €700 to €800 i'd say your best bet would be the Samsung 48h6400 - http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-200298-ue48h6400.aspx - a 48" Smart 3d at €729 inc delivery - and as above, although the 3d may not be necessary, the better processor required for 3d will greatly improve the Standard HD picture too

This is available for delivery from our UK warehouse on a 3-5 day delivery
If youd like to order, drop me a pm with your contact details and I can give you a call, or if you've any other questions post them here or PM, or call me on  0044333 900 0070 opt 2

    Cheers

Would I need a sound bar for this? Or is ok? It's going on the wall!

And it pains me to say I've seen it cheaper in Harvey Norman !!

    Thanks for your post Peteb2

The speakers on the tv itself are fine for everyday tv watching, but if you're watching a lot of movies etc, you would be better off with a soundbar to be honest, the majority of modern tvs would be the same, not just this model/brand

I've had a look at the Harvey Norman site, and while you are right their price is cheaper, once you start to add on options to compare like for like, our is a massively better deal :)

Our price at €729 includes delivery to anywhere in Ireland, and also includes a 6 year warranty as standard.

Harvey Norman's price at €689 is for collection only, an additional €19.99 for delivery within Dublin, and also it is for standard manufacturers warranty only. To add an extra 4year warranty with them to bring it up to 6 years, costs an additional €219, bringing their price up to €927.99

Hi Brian, Is there any deal on this Samsung UE48H6400 tv at the moment? I am looking for a similar 48 or 50 inch tv.
    Thank you.

Hi konline, thanks for your enquiry

Unfortunately the UE48H6400 is not available for purchase in euro at present. If you wanted it for delivery to ROI you can order via website and pay in sterling
The TV is currently £549, and a delivery charge of £6.99 would be added

other screens in and around the same price/spec you could look at would be

    Panasonic TX47AS650 - http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-200528-viera-tx47as650b.aspx at €699 including delivery
    or
    Panasonic TX50AS650 - http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-200553-viera-tx50as650b.aspx at €799 including delivery

All 3 of these TVs are available from stock from our uK warehouse on a 3-5 day delivery

If you have any other queries please drop me a post or PM, or give me a call on 0044333 900 0070 opt 2

    Cheers
