    Put the handbags away lads.

Hate to say it but I'm starting to frequent this thread less and less because of all the bitching by people.

I don't mind people expressing their opinions about this event but it appears to go off on a tangent pretty quickly.

Hope the Mods get a bit stricter as the thread last July was great and really increased the buzz and hype around the last Dublin event.

Back to topic: Am really interested in seeing if Pendred has sharpened his striking as I would love for him to put together another string of wins.

Also how crazy will it be seeing Big Ben and Stipe throw down?

I think Rothwell and Stipe is the fight I'm looking forward to most. Could be an absolute cracker.

Don't have much hope for Pendred, have a feeling that'll be the scheduled bathroom and beer break for a lot of people. Really would like to see him improve because the fights have become so dull.

Seriously doubt it. I honestly reckon that doing what he said before (perhaps he was joking?) with regard to taking time off and boxing, would do him good. His striking doesn't look UFC standard!

Don't worry about being at the back guys. Every seat is a good seat in the 3 arena. If you've never been in it before, don't worry, its fairly small. There are no bad seats imo. I was in row 52 last year and could see the fights clearly.

Would love to know the deal with the last fight to be added to the card.

It's either something that was agreed a while ago and they are just trying to prolong the promotion with another announcement or....
...two poor lads are being given 6 weeks notice on a fight.

Could also be a slot for recently beaten fighters to get at it again, much like Pearson v Felder.

    Redser did say this on Saturday;
Big thanks @danawhite @lorenzofertitta @seanshelby my saturday just got a whole lot better. Cheers

However, if another person's tweet I seen is anything to go by I think he could be involved in the December 10th card that they announced at GOBIG conference,

In fairness it's a very well seated arena, very few awful seats. You'll generally get a good view wherever especially with the screen.
    I disagree with that tbh.
It's a <10k seater arena. Of course there's no nose bleeds like in a 50-90k football stadium. But the asymmetrical shape with the cage at one end isn't ideal. It means the back row is further away than it needs to be. If the cage had the same seating on all sides, it would probably be a 20k venue.

But that said, you'll be a lot slose for a lot cheaper on average compare to the stadium in Melbourne. That'll be some laugh

No way. Seery will be higher and Dalby will be lower for sure. Still one or 2 fights to be added too.
The wikipedia order comes from the UFC website I'd assume.
Take this with a pinch of salt, as it's liable to change. But this is the running order in the media release.

Note: The Bubba Bush vrs McLellan fight isn't there. Even though it was announced a month ago. Seery is, despite it not being announced recently

Are you sure there will be another fight added?

I dont think there will be, its sold out and with 6 weeks notice is a bit of an ask, unless ( like someone suggest, its a fighter who has recently fought so still in shape )

Last Dublin event was a Fight Pass exclusive in all countries, except for the UK and Ireland where it was shown on BT Sport and 3e. I fully expect it to be on one or both of those again.

The listed time is a bit out of whack, but it notes that the event will indeed be shown live on Setanta.

Mention it in the Joe Duffy thread, but probably more chat here.
Duffy just received a purple belt from Firas Zahabi

Bektic v Kawajiri happening at the TUF 22 finale.

I know Siver had a fight scheduled with Whiteford for Stockholm but given he was the co-main in Berlin, I'd be shocked if he was announced this late for Dublin.

I know he has lost his last two but he's been with the UFC 8 years, you'd imagine they wouldn't be using him in such an afterthought of a fight.
He's still ranked #15 in the division too.

Amirkhani is a possibility. I think it's a take your pick from Lahat, Makashivili, Allen, Omer and Wilkinson though.

Apparently it's either Siver or Lahat.
Word coming from the guy who does UFC coverage for The Sun.

Wouldn't be surprised if it ends up as Lahat.

Great, Elkins will lay on him for 3 rounds.

    Robert Whiteford vs Darren Elkins

Fairly uninspiring fight but it's not like they needed to go all out and put big names on the card as it's already sold out.

Presuming that's the order of fights, it's a strange one. I'd have put Pendreds fights above Aisling, Seerys and Rays

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,590 ✭✭✭CurryFlavoured

That couldn't be the order. Dalby/Till main card? Whiteford, Daly and Pendred below Askham? No way is the Whiteford fight an early prelim.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,539 ✭✭✭John_D80

I don't think there is 'early' prelims for this. It's just prelims and main seeing as it's an all fight-pass card. From what I can see anyway.

As you can see, there is no early prelims, and yes that is the order of the event.
