Relax. Semple Stadium has a 50,000+ capacity. When was the last time there was anywhere near 50,000 at a Munster final? There wont be a capacity crowd or anywhere near it. 40,000ish at best. Anybody who wants a ticket will get one. Loads of them available on the day if need be.

Maybe we should start a rumour that the tickets for the Munster final are nearly sold out thus creating panic buys by people that weren't sure wheather they were going or not. Full capacity Thurlas on Munster final day would be something else. But ya i would be surprised if there is 40,000+

Surely there is no way that all the entire old stand is held back.....I always got a ticket there before, even up to a few days before it! It seems ridiculous! Whats the point the GAA having online booking if you havent a choice of all areas!?

Because you'll always have the ould lad in each club who was a star back in 1972, will have to be accommodated with a ticket, and will not exactly be a regular on-line.

The two stands will sell out with a few days to spare. Terrace tickets will be floating around until around throw-in.

Yes but my point is there are NO tickets available online for the old stand!! I've never seen this before!

  • Registered Users Posts: 278 ✭✭hawthorn

I will update that....there are no tickets for EITHER STAND available online now!!!!!

Bit odd alrite! I went to supervalue to see, they only have new stand 115 may aswell be standing. Not that im fussy with a munster final but i dont believe they can restrict so many for clubs?

The stand tickets that centra and supervalu got were on the far left and far right of the stands. Practically on the goal line. I don't know about the online allocation but I'd imagine the best stand tickets, the ones closest to the middle, were given to clubs.

If the game is half as absorbing as the seeking and sourcing of tickets are, it will be some game.

I was online at 10am yesterday morning and put in 2 old stand tickets by mistake and got offered section 206 row gg but had to get 4 so I got offered section 208 row gg and took them.

They will prob be a sale in Walsh park and fraher field and more than likely in thurles next week or the week after

Tickets.ie and supervalu probly only got limited tickets

They're selling them in blocks. More are to be released sometime next week.

Waterford to win i think. Look the in form team for 2015, like to see them doing well this year with so many past greats involved in the setup. Playing a lovely brand of hurling this year too I think.

There was a time not too long ago that no tickets were available online so I wouldn't be complaining. Most tickets are distributed through clubs in Tipp and Waterford and they should be given whatever ticket allocation they require. The Munster council have to hold back enough to deal with all club demands.

The likelihood is there will be tickets back from the club allocation but don't expect decent quality ones after the clubs and those online at 10 yesterday snatched up the better ones.

Lads, I'm unfamiliar with this ticket business for Munster finals.I'm a Dub who wants to bring my 10 year old hurling mad daughter to the game.Want to get a couple of seats anywhere as she wouldnt get any sort of a view on the terraces. As already said the GAA website only has terrace tickets onsale at the minute. Is this likely to change at all?Any of you who know how these things tend to work can offer any advice please?

There will be 10-20k tickets available on the day. Just pick them up in the ticket van that will be outside the ground. Other than that more will be available online soon.

Some stand tickets online again.....I was given the option of old stand, just went for a minute to check plan of stadium; when I came back they were gone!!! No tickets for old stand again!!
Only new stand in the corner!!

Im giving up this online lark, I'll either get one on the day or stick to RTE!!

You were doing so well until the bolded part!

There isn't a hope that this will be a sell-out. I would imagine they are only releasing batches at a time. Limerick getting to the minor final might boost the crowd a bit alright, other than probably the two best counties in Ireland in Limerick & Cork have been in the two last Munster Finals and the attendance hasn't broken 43,000

Should be a very intriguing contest, be very interested to see how Tipp set up for this game, the smart move was to focus on Limerick's full back line in the semi, will they draw Bubbles etc out further this time as they won't get as much space from Waterford near to goal.

I for one couldn't care less about the attendance. This will be an exciting game, I'm looking forward to Waterford banishing this myth that they play negative hurling and aren't great to watch. Going to be a fascinating clash of styles, I'm expecting Tipp to sneak it.

I think you're right about releasing the tickets in batches. It could also help boost sales if people think the tickets are scarce!
