Is this to prevent pain when wearing high heels? I think I have heard of this before. Have you tried anything else, I'm wondering if taping the second and middle toe together works.

Yes that's what it's for!!

I tried the taping but to be honest if anything I found it more uncomfortable. I don't wear shoes with very high heels at all, but even if they are a bit more than kitten heels I get pain in ball of foot. I think I walk putting more pressure thrugh this area area. Have tried all the cushions etc also!!
