I'm planning on making the move to Dublin in the coming weeks and was wondering what places people would recommend? I'd be happy with anywhere within 20 mins walk of the city centre that isn't overly expensive (if such an area exists in Dublin!), any recommendations?

Any upper limit on what you want to spend on rent?

What's your budget? Will you be sharing or renting alone?

    Preference for house or apartment?

20 minutes walk of city centre doesn't really clarify things - Harcourt could be considered city centre, but so could Temple Bar or O'Connell St. Northside or Southside, for a start? And will you have access to public transport (e.g. will you be working somewhere where you'll be able to get a taxsaver ticket?) In which case would you be willing to live more than 20 minutes walking distance from whatever part of the city centre you need to be close to?

Any local amenities you'll need access to? Eg gym cinema etc.
