bounced back on 7 with another bird

Looks like he may have birdied 8 and made a huge par save on 9 from just off the green according to twitter.

Brain Keogh is obviously following him around (video evidence) and he's done it before (at the Bristish open for instance), so I'm confident he's right.

Held a 10ft putt for par on 14. A birdie would be nice ;)

European Tour just updated the 8th Hole to Birdie :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,848 ✭✭✭Panrich

He's getting credit for that birdie on 8 now so -10 after 14 it is.

  • Registered Users Posts: 506 ✭✭✭pcasso

European site now reporting eight as a birdie.
    -10 with four to go

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,084 ✭✭✭✭Seve OB

    On par 5 15th green in 2.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,848 ✭✭✭Panrich

On the green in two at 15 also. Good chance to get a bit of breathing space here.

Fantastic...... hopefully can par his way in now.

I wonder how many more tournaments 1st place in last years qualifying got invited to compared to 25th place.

Irrelevant as there is a re rank of newcomers early in the season, if you get off to a good start you will get more starts and vice versa.

Par at 17, one to go

an 8 on the last will be enough :D

lets hope he gets a birdie though :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,848 ✭✭✭Panrich

If he pars the last, he'll be the only player in the field to break 72 every day.

unless Daniel Im finds a couple of birdies in the last 4 holes.

    That'll do nicely. Well done.

Awful melt down by McGrane. Expected better of him. Looks like he lost heart and couldn't wait to get in.

Not totally irrelevant Niall as there will be some events before the re-rank that he mightn't get into especially around the desert swing. Shouldn't be an issue for Paul though as he'll do well picking up sponsors invites on the back of last years Open.

Some going to come through 258 holes of qualification biggrin.png

Shows how difficult it is even for Top amateurs to get a leg up on the Pro tour. The play-off in stage 2 was probably the defining moment of his career so far. Not the most important but the one that had the biggest say in the path he was likely to take over the next couple of years.

Yeah he actually had a challenge tour status from his race to Dubai finish which most lads missing stage 2 wouldn't have. 258 holes though, he's mentally tough no doubt!

He may not have much time to rest as the new season starts next week. :)
I wonder if he will make the trip to South Africa or take a break until the new year.

EDIT: I actually see he is already on the entry list as an invite

Am I right in saying he is the only member of the (top quality) 2015 Walker Cup team to get his card?
How many under par was he for the whole qualification?

He was -32 for 14 rounds and didn't shoot over par in any round.

I don't think anyone else got their card off the Walker cup team. He did play with a 19 year old Swede yesterday who played as an Amateur and got his card.

He has also confirmed he is playing in SA & Australia before Xmas.

I presume the swede (Marcus kinkult) automatically turned pro when he secured his card.

He is a phenomenal talent as well and expect good things from him on tour. Already had a big chance this year to win the nordea masters tournament this year.

That invite is no longer on the european tour website. He is now listed as a reserve for the next 2 tournaments.

EDIT: The entry lists have been updated again and he is now in both tournaments.

Disappointing second round of 75 (+3) for Paul in Australia. Still OK though at tied 28th. Cut is +6.
