Couldn't believe the AWS reading this morning here near Tralee so checked the manual gauge to confirm that we had just 0.8mm here since midnight and just 2.2mm before that. Saw the radar returns and it was like the red sea parting here with the main bulk splitting leaving a relatively clear corridor around here.

Windy during the night getting up to 62 kph, currently light WNW

Bright sunshine here earlier brought the temp up to 18.8C, back now to 16.7C

Here too - been raining here now for 12 hours, mostly light but the accumulated total is now 11.8mm.

Nearly calm, fairly gloomy. Cold too, max 13C about an hour ago.

Definitely the worst day we've had this summer and the first "full rain day" since early May.

Sunny nearly all day, bar some mid-afternoon dull periods when it looked like showers were close by, but the shields held.

Earlier wind eased back a fair bit, high 18.4C.

A few big showers overnight and throughout the day here near Tralee ( especially between 10.00 and 10.30 ), lesser so in the afternoon, amounting to 4.0mm. Relativity speaking not a bad day ( better then the overcast grayness that has been an all too common feature here in the SW this summer ).

Temp getting up to a modest 17.2C and back now to 14.5C

Good sunshine, especially in the afternoon . Breezy and bright this evening with big passing cloud.
