Looking for a good GP in these areas who has signed up to the under 6 scheme as my own GP hasn't and I have to move my daughter to another GP. Thanks

I don't know if this doctor's surgery is signed up (sorry), but you could give them a quick ring.

I am recommending Dr.Karen Gibney at McDermott's surgery on the Glendoher Road, Rathfarnham, as I really like her.

She's so friendly, so nice and actually listens to you, whereas some doctors have a habit of interrupting you and can be condescending, but Karen's really lovely and I could go to her with anything.

EDIT: I Googled her to find out what she specialised in and I see now that she has actually started her own practice, in Ballycullen.

Don't know if that's any use to you, but like I said, she has a great bed-side manner.

We use Dodder Park Medical. They're not on the list published but I rang them and they guarantee they've signed up. The list just needs to be updated apparently

We've signed up with Solas Medical Centre in Rathfarnham Shopping Centre, been using them since literally day one for our daughter. No problems with them, all staff are very nice & helpful. Only drawback may be the lack of a lift upstairs, but it's never been an issue for me.

Yes I know I rang them :( I ended up signing up with Dr Rachel Harnett. They are open till 6 and are beside the blue haven pub.
They said they weren't taking on any new under 6 patients but she let me register with them.

You need to register with gp first, then go online as gp will check their list of patients.

Dr Harnett is great, as is Dr Brennan in the same surgery. We used to go there. But the long waits at the walk in clinics became tedious. And same day appointments are next to impossible, unless your child is under 1.

So we moved to Family Doctors and will stay with them, despite having to pay.

Are you not going to sign up for your gp card?
