we have been the better side easily but a bit dodge at the back and it's cost us.

Observations : Darmian is such a quality classy player... Bastian's passing is unreal, Memphis is a potential match winner every time..... Even though it's a friendly Alan Kelly continues to be a brutal ref...

The difference between how competent the teams are in defence is scary. Blind isn't a CB full stop, and Jones isn't good enough.

For both the goals Blind was nowhere. Not sure what position he is playing when he isn't last line of defense.

Playing with no CB partner is very tough. For both goals Blind was not in picture, not sure if Jones alone can cover the entire center defense.

Psg spent most of the first half spamming lobbed balls like a FIFA player. Second goal was, in particular, an example of what we badly need; the ability to carve teams open. Though second one was helped by Jones just giving up as the ball went in.

Rooney is lacking creatively and hasn't been able to help anyone through, Depay and Mata looking ok, Shaw too. Carrick and Schweinsteiger seem to defensive minded to be playing at the same time.

Quandary

Jones has been shocking. Blind has been coming way too far forward into midfield. Schweinsteiger doesn't look fit enough yet. Carrick has been completely anonymous for large parts of that half. Rooney was looking sharp for the first 20 mins but quiet for the rest of the half. Memphis not bad, bit naive in his decision making but is showing enough to stay on. Ashley Young has been as bad attacking as Jones has been defending. Mata has been very average.

The only two positives have been both fullbacks.
I'm loving Darmian, he looks a quality purchase and Shaw has been very decent also.

That midfield is crying out for Morgan. Young and one of our centre backs need to come off.

Only the midfield has been addressed. Or at least time will tell.

This match is like a typical game of Fifa. Dominate majority of the game, create chances but not clinical enough. Then the opponent gets like 1 or 2 chances and tucks them away nicely. So annoying.

Then again this is good because maybe LVG will realise that this Jones and Blind partnership is crazy especially against the likes of Ibra.

LVG was saying in the pre match interview that he wanted Blind helping out the midfield when Utd were in possession. That might explain his bizzare ghosting forward into midfield. It's not fcuking working though :mad:
