    Hey so I'm planning on going to UCD in September to do French and Spanish because they were the only things that I'm good at in secondary school. I was wondering if I could get some advice. Obviously I know it's going to be harder than leaving cert but I would like to know what the workload is like and what classes you have to take. Are there many people in the classes? What are the exams and teachers like? Even if you don't go to UCD feel free to post some advice. Thanks in advance :)

    It's based on small group teaching. If you do beginners level you'll have 3 classes a week, and if advanced its 2, in most cases anyway. Some languages may have an additional conversation class. There's a good few cultural/lit/linguistics modules to choose from, obviously some better than others. I haven't done either of these languages so can't comment what it's like from the inside. Since there's so few hours a lot is based on autonomous learning so if you want good grades you'll have to put the work in. Examination is generally split between in semester and end of year(these are generally worth no more than 50-60%). Teachers for the most part are great, except one of the Spanish ones who's reknowned for being ****e. You can pm me if you have more questions.
