Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Did you not receive an email stating you would be contacted in 4-6 weeks?

An unqualified observation but Galway does not strike me as a depot with a shortage of staff so it could be some time before drivers are needed.

  • Registered Users Posts: 59 ✭✭seanbrady49

I'm in Galway, Stage 2 done, nothing since and like Jamie2k9 says no shortage of staff in Galway, not only that but they are looking for a majority of women 60/40 i gather, also been told that getting a job in galway means knowing someone inside, slight bit of nepotism so not gonna hold out much hope.

Just got an email there. Haven’t heard anything since completing stage 2 at home tests. Saying they have progressed with stronger applications and my application will be kept on file.

  • Registered Users Posts: 832 ✭✭✭Eddie Ere

Same. 26000 people applied and my test will be valid for up to two years in a stringent ranking system under which I could then be called upon for further advancement.

Welcome to the world of panels, not really found outside the public sector and semi-states.

The reducing returns towards the end of a normal panel must make life hell for HR staff, having to contact tens of people for everyone one still interested - but I suspect the draw to this job means more people will be happy to get the call months to years later.

I've heard nothing since the 4-5 week mail, I applied for Waterford.

Where did you apply for Willie Stroker 1976?

Galway too on the 4-6 week email. Very tempted to say at stage3 i'm happy to relocate to dublin.

No it doesn’t. To be honest, I hadn’t heard anything at all since stage 2, didn’t even get the 4-6 week email, so I had gotten over it since and assumed I was out. This gives a little hope, but still, over it at this point.

Applied for cork, not heard anything since stage 2 and 4-6 wk email

  • Registered Users Posts: 832 ✭✭✭Eddie Ere

I think those who got the 4-6 week email are in a much better position than myself who got the email last night, as they are more than likely going to be contacted pretty soon by the sounds of it. Best of luck.

Out of interest those that got the 4-6 week email was it from opc or Irish rail?

  • Registered Users Posts: 64 ✭✭annor99

My hubby applied to Limerick and didn't get any email after stage two online tests. No 4 to 6 email or this latest one. Doesn't seem to be any logic to it but hopefully there is.

Think the people who got the 4 to 6 week emails were all for depots outside dublin

  • Registered Users Posts: 243 ✭✭md323

    I applied for Limerick.
Got the 4-6 week email on the 26th of January.
    Email came from OPC.

I applied Dublin and got the 4-6 week email 3 weeks ago. Got it 26th January too as above.

Same got my 4-6wk email from OPC on the 26th (Galway depot)

I done the stage 2 the second week of Jan, not heard a jot since, no 4-6 week mail or anything since, seems to be a little all over the place.

Depends on how you look at it. Your application will be kept on file etc.

Some were sent out yesterday I believe with the majority today.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10 fanningb

Got mine yesterday also, congrats on passing stage two online tests but we are currently moving forward with stronger candidates, we will keep your application on file and may call you within 2 years... (I don't think I'll be holding my breath while waiting for a call so)

Has anyone received an out and out rejection email? Or is it all either no email or the 4-6 week one?

    Still nothing on interview.

Any sign of that GM or is there a hold up for the medicals ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11 Clodiagh87

No word here since the 'all appointments have now been assigned. We will be in contact very soon.' e-mail last Wednesday.

I'm having the 16pf tomorrow in Inchicore, as they didn't have time to do them last week. I'm assuming a medical is to follow, as Ais pointed out there will be more medicals end of the month. If all goes well, interviews immediately after that, but it'll be a close shave with starting the course beginning of March, will be happening very quickly indeed...

I would think if they are pushed on time they may make a class for March from those that have gone through all stages up to interview, and for us who won't have a medical for a few weeks, we may be in the queue for next class to start a couple of months after that, sometime in summer.
Or, potentially they may interview those they think are the main candidates and of those if some haven't had a medical yet the medical may be done afterwards. Depends I suppose on how much they wish to expedite the process, the number who are through, and the number they plan to take on.

    Can only wait and see.

No chance there will be a class in March. By the time people are interviewed and vetted?? Absolutely no chance.

It'd say once these last batch 16pfs are finished tomorrow or Monday, they'll let us know when the next medicals are, followed by interviews of those who already passed their medicals, keep the stream of recruits coming from medicals straight into the interviews. May not happen beginning of March for all, but someone said there are 14 internal staff waiting to go ahead with training. they could always start with them, and as you said, next class could start summertime. I'll try find out more info tomorrow from the HR team.

I'm back in tomorrow as well, will be asking the same.

I'm not sure about the 14internal staff thing. There was an internal staff member in my assessment session last week. Why would he be in the assessment if they've already selected internal staff to start training. Seems a bit odd you'd select some and have others do the assessment along with external candidates....

Has anyone from Galway gotten past stage 2?

Very strange that no one I’ve spoken to or on here with Galway as their depot has even heard back from IE since stage 2 online assessments.

I got email for 4-6wks on the 26th Jan. Applied for Galway

26000 people applied, I'd be fairly certain they aren't all on this thread so how do we know it didn't happen?

Maybe because users on here would be quite representative of over all applicants and therefore at least some should have received the “maybe next time “ email .

Some did, the night before. So I maintain, nobody can be certain it didn't happen. It may not have but we don't know for certain. We've got maybe 20 -30 active posters in this thread and some of those already work for the company. Not really representative of anything really.

I never got the 4-6 week email. I applied for Limerick and felt quite confident after online phase 2. Not being cocky just thought it went well if you know what I mean.

I never received any email after completing phase 2 online test. Just wondering if anyone else received a confirmation email after completing that phase.

FYI I know of 4 applicants who received rejection emails after online phase 1. And I know one other applicant who did receive 4 to 6 week email after online phase 2 who also applied for Limerick.

In the same boat, completed phase 2, no email where as my brother in law completed phase 2 and got the 4-6 week mail.

    both applied for galway..............very odd
