5.1 screen version due out shortly apparently, that's what I'm waiting for

Where did you hear that? That would defintiely be the sweet spot. But I love mine now, find my S4's 5" screen tiny when I use it now.

I was going to get the Moto G then read about this phone so not sure what to do now.
The size sort of puts me off aswell especially coming from an iPhone 4 that fits nicely in your pocket.

I would definitely recommend going to a shop and holding one just to see. The iphone 4 is tiny by todays standards though, so I would expect a decent jump in size no matter what phone you get. But this phone is big, it's really big. It took me a couple of days to get used to, but now I find it's fantastic and love the large screen.

I am pretty sure someone said Smart Ultra with 5.1, and someone else understood Smart Ultra with 5.1". And the rumour started...

Broke my moto g screen this morning, and really tempted by this rather than getting it fixed. Not as impressed by the second edition moto g. Could do with dual sim again though.
Any other dual sim phones worth looking at before I take the plunge on the Smart ultra?

If I put a SanDisk Ultra MicroSDXC Memory Card 64GB in the VSU6 will i be able to move/save apps to the memory card or is it just video/photos/music that can be stored on memory card?

I've the exact same card in mine at the moment and have the majority of my apps on the SD card.

There are a few mentioned earlier in the thread that might be worth checking out... e.g.

    Coolpad F1 8297W
    Lenovo K3 Note
    Meizu M2 and M2 Note

I heard the EU version doesn't have a SD card slot only the Chinese one does? That's a deal breaker right there imo....

A riddle: what is a EU version when it comes to Xiaomi?

Officially they are present only in China, Singapore, India, Malaysia, Philippines and Brasil.

With China phones it's generally the variant that has WCDMA support rather than TD-SCDMA.

Smart Ultra 6 now just £99 on the UK Vodafone site.

Use your Revolut currency card and get it for €135 + €3.95 ParcelMotel fee = just under €139

    http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/pay-.../sku86605-grey

After you get it unlocked via eBay for under €4 the total comes to under €143 all in - an even better bargain at that price :D

Current ship time is 1-2 weeks. Still, for a €32 saving, worth it I think

In other words, there isn't such a thing as a Xiaomi EU version.

There can be a WCDMA version, and those phones come with various WCDMA bands (850, 900, 1900, 2100; 1700/2100 is [virtually] non-existent outside US and Xiaomi never supported it) and some of those phones work in Europe.

I wonder if we'll see a price drop here soon. What a steal! It's incredible to me just how good they can produce this phone and sell it for a profit at less than 150euro.

I suppose so if you want to be pedantic.
But the key point is that anybody buying a "China phone" should make sure to buy the WCDMA version and not the TD-SCDMA version where applicable.

I really don't need it, am concerned it is too big, yet so tempted to buy one!
