NT rotary phone

Not sure if this is the correct pace for posting this.

I have an old Northern Telecom rotary phone that used to be in my grandparents house. I'd love to use out on our house. When I hook it up to the phone socket it works but it won't ring.

Do I need to get an adaptor for such an old phone?

Its pulse dialing and AFAIK our exchanges can only accept touch tones.

Not true - Rotary dial phones still work on Eircom's exchanges.

Op - If you bring the phone to a reputable electronic repair place, they shouild be able to fix it. I used to work for Northern Telecom repairs 30 years ago, and the main issue with faulty ringers in those phones was a blown capacitor. Any decent repair person should be able to trace and replace the faulty component.
