Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is how he put it as Dunne lined up for the tee shot on 17...

Yeah I heard that but wasn't sure

What a shot on the 17th!

For a 22 year old amateur Dunne looks very comfortable. Obviously enjoying and appreciating the crowd there as well. Reminds me of Speith in many ways.

To those who follow Irish golf, is this kid a flash in the pan or is this the arrival of a new top player?

Yes. Remarkably calm but I'd say he's tad more nervous than he looks.

Since the mid 80's when my dad first brought me down to Greystones Golf Club to caddy for him, and all the years I've been a member since, today had undoubtedly and without question been the proudest day for me and I'm sure every other member.

Lump in the throat and tear in the eye.

Congratulations and we'll done to Paul and Alan, you were 2 superstars today.

What an absolutely fantastic round Paul Dunne. Fair play

Ooosthuizen has joined Dunne and Day on 12 under

Dunne is finished his round, getting great applause from the crowd

His score today is a record for an amateur

Probably Day or Oosthuizen depending on if Day birdies the last

If its not going to be an Irish guy, then I'd like it to be Jason Day.

Brilliant by the Irish lads today. Superlative. Supreme. Supercalafragalistic.

    Would be rude not to.

Unfortunately I've to work, but going in early to get home early. Should see the back 9!

Justin Rose for me. Watching Dunne today, reminds me of when he won it as an amateur.

Let's not rule out a 3rd Open for eh, Padraig

Rose didn't win it as an amateur, did he not come fifth or something?

This is wide open I think down to 7 under could possibly still do it if they get out early and get lots of birdies in before leaders start

Am I right in thinking the last grouping tomorrow is based on who gets in the clubhouse first, meaning if Day stays at -12, then Dunne is in the last group with Oost?

Amazing performance by Dunne. I wish him well tomorrow.

Day misses out on outright lead.

Oosthuizen set to play with Dunne tomorrow

Thought the Scottish pairing would go great together today but they have only gone backwards. Very disappointing for the local crowd

I've no interest in what passport a golfer has so I'll be rooting for Day tomorrow. Would be great after what happened to him at the US Open.

Fair play to Dunne. I think anyone from -8 can still win it.

I'm like that myself I more support who I like as a player I'll be hoping for a miracle from fowler to win but it would be great too see an amateur win regardless of nationality

The winds will increase during the day tomorrow to somewhere in the 20s mph. It also looks like it will be wet too. Gonna be fun!
