I think you're right, but also missing the point about James being totally ignorant of the situation - he dug the hole bigger for himself in his 'apology' today.

Don't want to prologue this topic, because it's already been discussed at length, but ignorant of what?! He's obviously aware Ireland is independent of the UK. As far as I'm concerned, provided that that is acknowledged, any other mistake is forgivable.

Edit: this is now off topic. Apologies.

    Willett risking a smiting.

Leishman is -15 for his last 27 holes. Ridiculous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,780 ✭✭✭✭ninebeanrows

Dunne was only 2nd player to get bogey on 10th

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,472 ✭✭✭stockdam

Another good shot by Leishman........just missed his putt. Stays at -16

It was Johnson's fault. His driver slipped as Willett walked by. Willett apologised but Johnson gave him grief. So much for Zach's much avowed christianity.

Awful putt by Dunne. He doesn't want to drop a silly shot

He is one of the few to keep the long putter before the ban. That putt doesn't augur well when he has to change next year. I think Williams will be well retired by then - he's not going to go through that suffering.

    What a duff from dunne

It is a shame for Dunne. Do notthink he will even win the silver medal now either which is a pity. Still a great weekend for him...

Another fat wedge by Dunne.......that's his 2nd or 3rd today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,595 ✭✭✭kingshankly

Dunne has hit some absolute shocking shots today it's like watching an amateur

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 320 ✭✭lostatsea

That's about the fourth shot Dunne has hit heavy starting with his second on the first. He's doing well to be at -11. The silver medal now looks to be gone. The other amateur will get in under the radar without the pressure Dunne had to endure.

    Well played

Jordan NIEBRUGGE is now leading amateur at -13.
    Dunne at -11.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

With johnson wedge play he could have duffed it to a perfect yardage

Niebrugge deserves it as he has been playing well.

Zach has just hit the worst shot ever. My 25 handicap playing partner would be embarrassed by it. It's bad Karma for abusing the son of a preacher!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,343 ✭✭✭PropJoe10

Would hate to see Johnson winning it. Day, Leishman or Oosthuizen!
