Crikey I thought it would be simple to get it unlocked with the many eBay sellers offering the service for only a few quid. I'm still trying to get my hands on one of these phones from CPW but I'm wondering now if it's worth the hassle.

.... me too! I've been trying to find out what's happening with my order for a week now - takes CPW customer care 1-2 days to reply to emails but I've had repeated reassurances that my order is on the way (delays with delivery from warehouse etc) and finally this afternoon got an email telling me my order has been cancelled cos they're out of stock. They debited my account eight days ago and told me to allow another ten days for money to be returned. Not a happy bunny & far from impressed with their 'customer care'. Their (lack of) communication following an online order is the worst I've experienced.

.... feeling a bit better on hearing about the software problems and difficulty unlocking. Seems like I'd be better try Adverts for a used one.

They come unlocked. No need for a code.
They have the vodafone logo when you first turn on the phone and 2 vodafone apps which can be disabled. Other than that they are unbranded and ready to go with any sim.

My friend got the code from vodafone and unlocked his phone :)

  • I thought Vodafone (or any network operator) wouldn't give the unlocking code unless you had spent €100+ on credit?

My friend is already on billpay since few years. Vodafone allows billpay customers to request 3 codes per year. He bought this phone and requested the code.

If codes dont work, yas can always chance it with vodafone-tell in store that your going on holidays and want to use another sim while away off course works better if you are their customer already so not much of a lie ;)

Since a while back they introduced that stupid rule if getting new phone you need to top up for at least 1-- first.

If you can still get it for this price the M7 is a far superior phone, have had mines for two years and apart from a dodgey usb port it's a cracking phone.

Size and build quality make it feel truly brilliant in your hand.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread but i thought that this info might be of use to some.

I have managed to sort the usb connection issues, the port on the phone was clogged up with an unbelievable amount of dust and grime so after using a small flat headed screwdriver I have my phone working like new. The dirt was preventing the usb from making a complete connection.

Good point. I have several devices with USB port issues. Must check, thanks!

I'm unable to get it unlocked. Tried few unlockers on ebay and other irish sites and they all sent the same code which is not working :(

Sorry for bringing up this thread again. I got an unlock code from Vodafone but it didn't work. I also tried from two ebayers, both sent the same code which didn't work. Just wondering if anyone had the same problem and solved it.
    Thanks.
