Not me Sara, I'll be a few months before I get going. Have my review appointment with consultant tomorrow, feeling really nervous about it to be honest. Hoping for some answers and positivity to move forward with.

Keeping everything crossed for you Sara and looking forward to hearing how you are getting on xxx

Well I've started IVF again. I'm day 1. Anyone with me?

Best of luck with it. Not with you, but hopefully not too far behind you.

Finally got my period today (7 weeks post D&C)

Need to wait out this cycle and then hopefully start FET next month.

Hollywood, best of luck for tomorrow. Will be thinking of you.

Well my period finished as soon as it started. So my specialist has recommended i stop.
I don't think going so soon after a failed IVF is a good idea. My cycle is all over the place!
Ahhhhh why can't this just happen and be easy. I'm just so desperate to have a baby. I need to slow down and make smart decisions.

Aw sorry to hear that Sara, I was in a similar position, I got OHSS so we didn't even get to embryo transfer. They then said we could start on the next cycle, but when I was scanned and my ovaries were too busy so we've to wait for this cycle.

AF due any day now, but the wait has been long.... Both my OH and I started a healthy eating plan and I've been walking 6 days a week. It's been great to have something to keep my mind of everything xxx

    Well done you!

Have been trying to so the same. Started the couch to 5k thing post D&C. Up to 30mins/4k now. Delighted with myself.

Hi ladies hope everyone is keeping well! Good luck Hollywood it hope everything goes ok tomorrow! Best of luck.

stickybean , Brokensoul and Sara, hopefully you will all be ready soon to start.

I am six weeks on the buserlin now and started puregon injections tonight. They started my husband on a ten day course of antibiotics (think this is standard?!) I am back for my next scan next Thursday. A bit worries about oohs, for anyone's who's experienced this what were the symptoms? And are you less likely to get it if you have just one ovary? TIA

Hey, I think the antibiotics are standard alright, my husband had to take them too.

As for the OHSS, I was high risk for it as I had a lot of eggs. The clinic advised that I drink loads of milk and water and that seemed to keep it at bay for me.Not sure if one ovary makes it less likely.

thanks Brokensoul! I just don't know what to expect being a first timer! Is it usually about two weeks of stimming? They have me down for egg collection in 16 days on my diary sheet.....Seems so quick!

Sounds about right to me. I think I had a scan 10 days in and then EC a week after that or so.

Once I got used to taking the meds I found the process ok. No pain or anything like that. Feel free to message me any questions or throw them up here.

I am away for the next week but will probably check in here a few times.

Sorry to hear that Sara, it's never easy on this journey, nothing is simple or straight forward unfortunately. Might be no harm to take a month our and try to get your cycle and body back to some sort of normality, easier said than done I know.

Stickybean, I'm trying to be healthy too, fell off the wagon yesterday but back on it today! Yoga tonight which I'm looking forward too is part of my plan. Going to start back running this week and a boxercise class on a Wednesday.

Welcome ASaltedPeanut, best of luck with your cycle! Good to have you onboard.

I had my review appointment on Thursday last. So it looks like my failed cycle is all down to my eggs, they didn't get the best quality ones from me due to the Endometriosis. I had a Grade 2 and a Grade 3 embryo. Again this was all down to the quality of the eggs. In short... my eggs are **** :(. We are doing another round even the consultant feels we should so I am aiming for January. For this round we will go with short protocol and I will be on the pill for 3 weeks then into the 2nd round. She also said she didn't think there was anything I could do to improve the quality of the eggs that it can just come down to luck.
Over the next few months I am going to be as healthy and fit as I possibly can and see what happens.

    Thanks :)

Anyone have any experience with thyroid issues? I've to see an endocrinologist for a slightly elevated TSH level. T4 is within range. Apparently it might have contributed to previous miscarriages. Also, I was tested for a clotting disorder (I haven't a clue what it's called, I must look back over results) so in the highly unlikely event of me conceiving naturally, I'm to start on heparin injections and progesterone suppositories. Does anyone know if chemists readily stock things like that or would they need to be ordered in?

I have another question! I'm not regular at all these days. I swing from 24 day to 35 day cycles. Will I be put on the pill prior to treatment?

I was irregular too. But when I was put on the meds for IVF, they managed my cycle and monitored my ovaries with scans.

Sorry to hear about your eggs Yellow Hen. Fingers crossed the next round they get the best ones xxx Good on you with the healthy buzz! I am finding it a little easier this time to keep healthy. I think as my acupuncturist put it... all the work you are doing now, is laying a welcome mat for your future. I thought that sounded nice :)

Hi everyone, I haven't been on here in a while, trying to take a break from all the ttc obsession. We are going to go for one last ivf attempt early next year and that will be that, regardless of outcome. Just wanted to pop by to say hello and wish everyone with upcoming cycles the best of luck. I do try to keep an eye out for news, even if I don't post too often at the minute. Wishing you all the best xx

  • Registered Users Posts: 95 ✭✭Yellow diamond

Aww tomee tipee best of luck to you too!

I am a week now on the puregon and going for scan in two hours to see if I have any eggs. Not sure what to expect, I am really nervous and feeling a little pessimistic, which I know I need to snap out of!

I have had some pain the last two days in my left side, (the side of my ovary) and it feels similar to a kidney infection......hope it's just the ovary working overtime!

  • Registered Users Posts: 129 ✭✭saraj14

Oh best of luck yellow diamond. I've my scan tomorrow. I'm also nervous. Sitting here now with heat on my belly. Hopefully i get some good news. Would really love to get a few eggs. Only got the one last time.

Thank you Sara best of luck to you tomorrow too!

I am just back from my scan, had three small follies. She called a doctor in then as she was concerned that quite a large cyst had grown and burst in the space of a week! She said that this was probably restricting growth as between that and the endometrial cyst there was not much room. The doc said he would rather I speak to my main doc on Monday so back for another scan then!

Thanks sticky! Just another few days to wait again, hopefully they will grow a big bigger! Does anyone know the minimum follicles you must have for egg collection? Would they take three if they were over the 18mm? TIA

  • Registered Users Posts: 129 ✭✭saraj14

I had the scan this morning. There are 5 - 6 follicles. My doctor is very positive, but i'm still a little apprehensive. I had the same result the last time and only ended up with one egg.
So anyone any tips? I'm sitting here at my desk with heat on my belly to increase blood circulation.

Not sure if it would help for increasing the volume of eggs, but I have started acupuncture. I have my third session today. I thought it wasn't doing much, but my family have commented that I am more relaxed and I do feel calmer.

Also when AF arrived this week it was a lot less painful. I know they can treat you for different elements of fertility and our clinic recommend accompanying acupuncture with IVF / ICSI. It might be worth a try?

I have also been told to make sure I am eating warm foods throughout the day, no salads of cold sandwiches and avoiding cold drinks. To increase green leafy vegetables and not to do any high impact exercise.
