Hello. A very impressive event on Dollymount beach this evening, some serious performances! Bearded man that came first thundered by barefoot like he was coming out of the blocks (this was at the end of the race). Great atmosphere, professionally ran event, lots of families, fun, and serious athletes.

(Unfortunately, there was a running race last Saturday that involved plastic bottles being thrown on the beach on a rising tide by runners. Although there were stewards arranged to pick them up afterwards, it was too late for hundreds of bottles that were taken by the tide)

Lots of beach users (surfers, SUPers, kitesufers, volunteers, local organizations and DCC) organize massive beach cleanups on the beach throughout the year, It's excellent stuff to see a zero litter attitude from the organizers and participants of todays event. Well done whoever you are.

Dublin Bay is a UNESCO biosphere designation.
Bull Island, has been for a long time, but now the designation covers 300 square kilometres of the sea and Dublin city and county. Dublin is the only major city in the world where it extends to an urban area. The only other one in Ireland is Killarney Park, so it's nice to see our environment respected.

I just thought this deserves a mention.
