Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Credit Unions offering different APR

A little advice - maybe somebody could find this useful.

I have always been a member of the CU in the area I grew up. My folks still live there and I still get my post delivered to my folk's house. But I rent in another part of Dublin and never bothered to change my CU or postal address. I figured that I could be renting somewhere different next year so why bother changing my postal address each time.

I recently enquired about a personal loan in my CU and was surprised to see the APR was around 12.5%.

I took a look at the CU where I now live and they offer a similar loan at 6%. That's less than half the amount!

Because I've been living here at least 6 months I was able to become a member, transfer shares from my old CU and immediately apply for a loan in the new CU. My track record of saving in the old CU is still taken into account.

If you find yourself living beside a different CU it might be worth checking out their rates. It could save you some money :)
