Saw the latest edition of Limerick magazine on line. I had a slight glimmer of hope for it but that's gone after reading through the latest edition. It's really just another rag and extension of Limerick Leader/Post.

I don't know what century Limerick journalists are living in but a two page spread on beauty pageants is just so dated at this stage. I don't know why limerick media persists in thinking that miss world/universe is newsworthy. The rest of the world had this debate in the 1960's and deemed them sexist and lame in general. I despair that a new publication, run by a seemingly fresh and young crew of journalists, think a girl in a bikini being judged is the highlight of Limerick life this month.

That free paper is about as far removed from the leader/post as is possible.
Not really my cup of tea though, I like the mag for a quick skim because of the barmy photos etc but the free paper doesn't do it for me.

They seem to be pushing a model very much in that magazine

The current magazine would not have made it past the censor till about twenty years ago, it's borderline pornography:eek:

Does it feature the "birds" that are in a local "rappers" new video? Only joking....

But seriously: ".....our reader is also the luxury traveler and corporate client. They are aged between 25 to 45 years old, are educated above-average, literate and have a strong interest in cultural movements of our time."

    Seriously?

    Mother of jaysus.

    Where does it say that?

Just looked at the website. Good production qualities, but then this ....

"We explore exclusive editorials and the best of designers, stylists, artists and writers from different parts, merge to feed our 200,000 readers per month with amazing talent, latest trends and inspiration.
The reader of Fusion Magazine is a savourer. They love beautiful pictures and value human interest articles. Therefore the Fusion Magazine team puts great value on high aesthetic standards.
Our focus is to create a luxury publication with a focus on artistic fashion, powerful editorial and a timeless and international shaped lifestyle"

On their website. Whoever came up with that muck would want to have a serious chat with themselves.
Is a luxury traveler in Limerick one of those rich folk from Rathkeale?

Really? To ogle at some young wan in a bikini contest and to browse a few cancer stories.

These people are hilarious. Their perception of the themselves and the actual reality are so disconnected it is very South Park-esque!

They're going for the corporate client. I am assuming they want their 200,000 corporate readers to be able to read about people who are high rollers like themselves.

Back to this: ".....our reader is also the luxury traveler and corporate client. They are aged between 25 to 45 years old, are educated above-average, literate and have a strong interest in cultural movements of our time."

This means their luxury travelling corporate readers are reading about people who appear and who have appeared in the magazine who aren't well traveled, who aren't between 25 and 45, are definitely not educated above average, and who wouldn't be able to point out Argentina on a map. But seeing as there are 200,000 readers, maybe the people appearing in the magazine are taken from that pool of readers.
We'll put scantily clad "birds" in it, because this is what the corporate well educated client wants! A flashier version of Loaded magazine!
Did the City of Vultures funding have anything to do with this magazine?
    Jokeshop.

I see the latest edition of that Limerick Magazine is out. Yet again it features some naked young women posing. Limerick media is ridiculously sexist. You swear all Limerick women do is enter beauty pageants and pose in next to nothing to titillate the Limerick men.

I hope the next few editions feature some naked posing men to even things out a bit.

Were you posting here back in the day when we tried to get me into the Limerick Leader's "Top 50 Sexiest Men"? :D I think it was the year a certain Mr Wallace stole the show, emerging from the water on a beach somewhere. :pac:

People's Choice section, I think. With the Rubberbandits (who'd probably win the thing if they ever ran it again :P ) and a local homeless alcoholic. :pac:

Some feat for you there. You know you're as hot as hell when you are runner up to two guys who wear plastic bags over their heads. I look forward to your nudey spread in next months limerick magazine :)
