Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Chappie (if you liked District 9) , Ex-Machina, Elysium.

Interstellar will be chosen my most probably. For me it started off promising, got very good half way through, and then just hit straight into a brick wall.

Don,t bother with Hercules its rubbish. Pompeii is nit very good either. After thats its really about what you want to watch. You have a lot of films there so just pick one and start watching hopefully enjoy watching it too. I think IA would start with Rush its a very good film them watch Intersteller it will have you thinking for ages after it. After that just pick and watch and enjoy.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Just a quick glance at the list and the one that jumps out at me is Nightcrawler. Will go down as a modern classic imo, seriously great film.

Pompeii was pretty enjoyable popcorn fare if that's what you're after, but if you're coming at it more from a historical interest, it's not great at all.

Hercules with Kellan Lutz is absolutely atrocious, easily the worst high profile movie I have seen in years. If it's The Rock version though, that is genuinely a ten-fold improvement and very watchable.

Quite a lot of those movies are on my list as well actually, these are ones I have seen though.
    Dead Man Down - watchable
    Riddick - quite good
OldBoy - original is fantastic, remake is watchable
Hercules - Kellan Lutz version is abysmal. Rock version is watchable.
The Maze Runner - surprisingly good
    Divergent - really poor
A Walk Among The TombStones - watchable
    Noah - disappointing but watchable
    Pompeii - watchable fluff
    Maggie - quite good
    Pacific Rim - excellent fun
    The Prince - poor
Iron Man 3 - very good
    Edge Of Tomorrow - excellent
Fury - very watchable but disappointing
The Purge: Anarchy - good, big improvement on the first
300: Rise Of An Empire - very entertaining
Sin City: A Dame To Kill For - good, felt this was undeservedly under-rated
The Monuments Men - extremely disappointing
The Equalizer - watchable, utterly ludicrous film though
Calvary - good performances but stupid film, I found
Gravity - visually astounding, well worth watching
American Hustle - excellent, mainly due to the cast
Wild Card - very good, Statham back on form
Chappie - very under-rated, totally solid viewing
Project Almanac - sick of found footage films but this one was decent
KingsMan: The Secret Service - very good comic-style adventure
    Ex-Machina - very good
    Unbroken - very good
The Water Diviner - totally disappointing, but watchable
Taken 3 - does what it says on the tin, really
Interstellar - excellent, a must see
3 Days To Kill - mediocre
Ender’s Game - good film, part of a planned trilogy that never happened though
Elysium - slightly underwhelming but well worth watching

    Based on your list -

    Ex-Machina
    Night Crawler
    Edge Of Tomorrow
    KingsMan: The Secret Service
    Don Jon
    Her
    Side Effects
    Fury
    Maggie
    Project Almanac
Hercules (Only if the Dwyane Johnson version)
Pacific Rim (would be further up if it were seen in the cinema)
    Interstellar
    Red State
    Riddick
    The Purge: Anarchy
    Gravity
    Welcome To The Punch
    Chappie

    A great film.

It's disgrace Jake Gyllenhaal didn't even get an oscar nomination for Nightcrawler.

    Yeah I know!!!

Been downloading the odd movie I liked the look of for the past few weeks but never got a chance to watch any of them (3 kids = Disney Channel) so it was only when I checked what I'd downloaded I realised how many I've to get through ........ just didn't know where to start!!!

Oldboy, not the Hollywood one though the Korean original. One of the best films I've ever seen.

The Grand Budapest Hotel. Wonderful film, full of wit and great performances all around.

I'd struggle to reccommend anything else there, most are terrible. Calvary is alright I suppose.

Edit: the Imitation Game is very good

    they/them/theirs

Movies I'd recommend from that list would be Nightcrawler, Foxcatcher, The Purge Anarchy, Divergent.

These movies I thought were disappointing although just my opinion I know some got great reviews.... Gone Girl, Fury, Mazerunner, A Most Violent Year and Unbroken.

Have not seen the rest bar one and it's the only one I'd say isn't even worth a watch and that's The Loft.
