    Hi all,

I was just looking to hear from people who the best provider of online visa card processing is? From what I can see 2Checkout seem to be one of the most popular but their charges seem a bit high for me. Our website won't have a great volume of transactions at first but we hope to grow it.

    Any advice much appreciated!

Are you a company or a sole trader?

What sort of products are you selling?

What e-commerce platform are you using? What payment processors does it support. Can you implement a payment processor on your own or have you a company that will be doing it for you?

    Where is your company based?

What's is your anticipated transaction value? How many transactions per month?

Will you need to accept cards in person or just internet sales?

Who does your business bank with?

Without at least some of the above information you're not going to get great suggestions.

Have you searched the 'Entrepreneurial & Business Management', there's lots of useful information you can get from the other times this has been asked?

Thanks for the reply. The ecommerce platform is based on Opencart. It supports all the common processors.

We will have it as a stand alone element of our business only taking payment by way of internet. That said we currently take payment over the phone with our visa card machine.

I'd recommend Stripe to get started with.

Most start off with PayPal for a reason. Its easy to use and most people are familiar with it and trust it and for a start up its not too expensive. Stripe is cheaper upto €2k/month or there abouts but over that PayPals discounts kick in so it gets a little cheaper so price wise its going to depend on your turnover. When you reach €10k+/month you would want to put it out there for companies to compete for and see who comes back with the best package.

We use Stripe & PayPal, easy to add to Opencart and have never had problems with either..

I agree - also have both integrated with OC and never had an issue.

Same - with stripe you can take credit card details direct on your own site which shortens the sales process. But some people like the perceived security and have more trust in PayPal - its a good idea to have the two
