He's really not, it's pure cringe, I always jump his bits. God nearly a year before more Battlesuits, I didn't even want to watch anything else this weekend...

    Edit: Battlesuits?

You probably aren't aware that introductions like that have been a staple of Battlebots since back in the old Comedy Central days.

At least Faruq isn't completely monotone like Mark Beiro was... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1Z4kjI8vlY

Back on May 15th, apparently the episodes will be 2.5 hours long and there will be 20 weeks of them! Also there is a walker bot.

" BotFans - We hope you all are safe and healthy and doing as best you can under these unprecedented circumstances.

We wanted to give you an update on what is happening with BattleBots and the 2020 season. As you all know we had to postpone our April live event, thus pushing back the May premiere of Season 5 on Discovery. While the virus has its own timeline, our commitment to you and the bot builders is to resume production as soon as it is safe to do so.

Our production team is working to keep track of the ever changing situation here in California and beyond. We have regular production meetings to ascertain when we might be able to restart production, and in what form it might take. We are exploring potential date windows later in the Summer or even early Fall. We have contingency plans in the works for maximizing social distancing during our shoot, and we will only restart production with the wellbeing of the bot builders, crew and audience as the top priority.

All that said, BattleBots will be back, and fighting robot sports will return to your screens. It is our life's work and greatest joy bringing fans the wondrous glory of metal munching mayhem. We will not give up. We love you all and are grateful for your support and patience.

As things progress and production plans solidify, we will keep you up-to-date on social media and via our email newsletter. In the meantime please support the heroic efforts of your frontline health workers, and essential employees. We wish you all the best. Please stay safe and healthy. "

of all shows you think battebots wouldn't need too much contact as long as you kept each lot of people separate... probably too expensive to do that though.

There's a lot of teams though, so enforcing social distancing would probably require a second warehouse for the pits area. Add on the extra levels of sanitation required when it comes to all the various tech inspections, as well as completely removing the ability to collaboratively work between teams (see some of the videos from two years ago of teams banding together to help someone fix their robot), and you'd lose the spirit of BB altogether.

BB 2020 is confirmed to be recording this October 2nd-15th behind closed doors. Supposedly episodes will be processed quickly and start releasing in November.

Big news though - Bite Force won't be there! This blows the competition wide open... or just means Tombstone is going to win.

Tombstones dangerous but not the murder machine he was in the early days, will be interesting to see how many new bots we get and what they're like, the scene was seriously heating up pre covid.

Reports are a bunch of the alternates from previous seasons are also being accepted to help bulk up the bot count. 49 have been revealed to supporters, with potentially 63 total entries.

Most of the UK bots are no longer heading over; so that's Cobalt, Orion {Apollo}, and Monsoon out.

Airing December 3rd 2020! Tombstone fighting first! Best thing on tv :D

No audience though, I find no audience at these events seriously off-putting, even the snooker was borderline ruined by it. Katie Taylor fight the other night was horrible aswell but I suppose the sound of the bots will make up for it.

Can't decide whether to save a few eps for Christmas break or not, I can usually resist but Battlebots is actually my favourite thing on tv, can't believe its back, fair play to them for getting a season like this out during this mess of a year, I hope the lack of competition doubles their ratings.

so they have the teams as the crowd each in their own box but the presenter don't say why! cowardly

did you watch, they use all the teams as crowd giving them their own box but don't say it because of a pandemic, though they show the teams with masks in the backroom working on their bots.

There wasn't much social distancing between teams after they fought though.

They don't want to have to date the content so much, as this could easily be shown several years down the line. Also, it's not exactly crucial to the content of the show.

Am I the only one who saw a gigantic like 10 meter long perspex wall between the two teams

they called out the boxes but, said "for the first time!..." then didn't say why cowardly.

    the masks will date it,

first teams that fought were mingling after the fight

Ah its not that big a deal, better than being distracted by it seeming to have been filmed in an empty hangar like all the boxing and others recently.

Not the best episode ever but great to have it back, lol at Tombstones fight. Looks like Smeeeeeeeeee is just a stupid gimmick, same for the shark bot, what are either supposed to actually do to an opponent?

i thought Smeeeeeeeeee did ok, and will do better against the usual smaller low robot.

Three mediocre eps so far sadly, worst quality fights of any season so far, hoping for an uptick soon, plenty of eps to go.
