    Hi Guys,

I am looking to build a Gaming PC and need major advice on it. I'll happily take any questions you guys need answering.

    1. What is your budget? ~€1000 - 1500 (Can be pushed if really necessary)

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? [Gaming/Internet] General Purpose, Internet, Gaming Capable of playing GTA V @ 60Hz 1080p

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? [Yes]

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? [No]

    5. Do you need a monitor? [Yes * 2]

5a. If yes, what size do you need. [24'] What do you guys recommend ?

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? [Keyboard] (Not important as i have an old one i can use for now)

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? [Yes] Not fussed

    8. How can you pay? [Laser/ Paypal]

    9. When are you purchasing? [Anytime over next month or so]

    Additional notes:
Memory - I would like to have a 2TB HDD and also an SSD.
CPU - i7 or i5? Is i7 worth the extra price?
    RAM - I presume 8GB is enough
I also need bluetooth on the PC.

    i5 is enough.

    2tb HDD Seagate Barracuda €80
    GTX 970 €350
    H97 board ASRock Pro4 €90
    250gb SSD Crucial BX100 €90
    400w PSU BeQuiet €50
8gb RAM Crucial Ballistix Sport €50
    i5 4460 €175
Leave €100 for a case. Recommend Nanoxia DS3 for €70
    Total is €955

    €100 for a mech keyboard
    €70 for a mouse

    BenQ 2450 24" 1080p Monitor €130 so two for €260

    Windows €20

I assume €60 is enough for a bluetooth dongle :pac:

Rough prices, especially around the keyboard and mouse, you'd be getting good stuff for that money.

All prices from Hardwareversand after geizhals.de affiliate site. HWVS are being ****s lately but shouldn't burst the budget if you've to go to amazon or likewise.

Any questions ask away, and apologies if this is formatted like crap.

Good suggestions above. Some notes though. I'd recommend a 550w psu just for some breathing room if you upgrade your GPU or anything of the sort.

If you're thinking of going the double monitor route at 260 at 30 euro more, you could get yourself a 29" LG ultrawide monitor.

OK thanks a million guys. Looks like a great build. I was actually just about to ask PSU, for just a small bit extra I think a higher wattage would suit.

How long do you reckon that CPU will cope with high-end games? What I mean by that is, if I go with that one when do you think I will need to update it?

BeQuiets 500ws are €60 so well inside the budget.

Probably 2-3 years, if not more. CPUs aren't really used a whole pile in most games. Thats set to change with DX12 but in a good way.

*edit* 2-3 years before it starts to become a bottleneck, should last longer before upgrade is needed

OK that's what I was hoping for with the CPU.
    Thanks, you've been great help.

That's all guesswork, no one can say for sure so don't come back here cursing my name if it's obsolete in a few months :pac:

I've the same CPU, we can riot together.

No worries, best of luck with the build

    Don't worry, I won't!
