Im buying a residential property via receiver, and contract is for Leasehold interest. My solicitor has established that the ground rent was previously bought out by the previous owner, but the vesting certificate was never registered

Does anybody know what will happen if I go ahead and purchase the Leasehold- will I be able to take the copy of the vesting certificate and myself and register with land registry. I have contacted prai but they cut me off quickly by stating that I was requesting legal advice which they don't provide

My solicitor has written to the receivers solicitors asking that the freehold be registered in advance of the sale but he has received a very direct negative response, with their solicitor stating that we would have to register the freehold when we take possession. Anybody have experience of this?
