    HKC Quantum 70 with GSM-Q

Not sure about remotely, do you mean check from a phone by an SMS report or through the app ?
To check from the panel or kaypad; put in the engineer code then its:

    Comms Menu > Communicators > GSM/GPRS Module > Status

Yes simple to do, its on the older version also.

    Code GSM STATUS and send.

Thanks altor, just tried that on my own system HKC Quantum 70 with GSM-Q. But I just get txt back "Invalid command".
I tried "GSM STATUS", "gsm stat" and "gsm status"

Is there any oher commands that I can utilise to obtain info on Alarm?

I used the <code> HELP, this returned 3 Commands (Arm/Status/Log), but oddly not GSMSTATUS, but its clearly another command that can be used

You can download the user manual if you don't have one here.
It has all the different commands.

^^^^ Thanks. Yes I had that manual, but its not comphensive, it didn't have the GSMSTATUS command, so there clearly is other commands that system can use (although GSMSTATUS might be the only other one!)

Brill, glad you got it working.
Caps or lower case don't make a difference to the text commands.

What do you text this too?

  • Registered Users Posts: 393 ✭✭_John C

Text it to your alarms phone number.

Say for instance that your alarm code is "123456". Just text:

    123456 gsmstat

to your alarms phone number. Your alarm will then send you a text back telling you how good its GSM signal is.

You must have a SIM card inserted in your alarm panel, that will have a mobile number, say 086-1234567, then just text this number with a message body of say, <code> GSMSTATUS, or <code> log

You then get the relevant info texted back to you

<code> above is your alarm access number, ignore the <> when you put in your code

    Thanks for the replies.

Only finding my way with the gsm recently.

When I set the alarm to full set from my phone it only sets the alarm as if I was staying in the house, which means the motion sensor isn't set.

Is this the only way you can set your alarm from the app?

  • Registered Users Posts: 393 ✭✭_John C

Are you sending the command "SET", or "Arm" ?

    SET = full set
    ARM = full set
    SET A = part set A
    ARM A = part set A

If you are using the app, press the arming button then arm, then you will be given the option to full arm, partset a or b.

Motions being off will depend on how your system is set up with regards, these.

If I am going out I put in my code and the motion sensor is active.

If I'm staying in I do 0*5 and my code and it arms without motion sensor.

This is what happens when I choose full set on app.

    I presume you mean 0#5.
This is a full set with no exit timer?
Are you sure the PIRs are off?

I presume so because I'm walking in front of sensor and nothing.

So when I do 0*5 am I actually doing a full set with motion sensor?

0#5 is a full set with no exit timer. The PIR should go into full alarm when you walk in front of it set this way unless you inhibit the zone.

If you put in 0#3 on the keypad does the sensor activate the internal bell when you walk in front of it?

    I'll try that tomorrow.

So I set it on full set on the app and I'm walking in front of sensor and its not going off.

Guess that means something is wrong.

Thank you for all the replies by the way.

If you do a full set on the alarm at the keypad the system will give you an exit timer. If you do a full set from the App it wont unless you use the virtual keypad and enter your user code that way.
If you walk test the PIRs 0#3 you will see if they work.

Hi guys, a quick question for you please: are you able to enter engineer mode using the virtual keypad on the app?
