    Hi All

My wife, 2 sons ( aged 2 and 2 months) and myself are planning on moving to North Kerry and to get settled into one of the communities we wee wondering has anyone any info on the hurling villages as I would like my sons to play when they grow up. Any info would be greatly appreciated either here or in PM.

Basically all of the villages north of Tralee and west of Listowel are the hurling heartlands of Kerry but the real "nursery" in many ways is (or at least used to be) Causeway Comprehensive School, which serves all of them. Lixnaw, Abbeydorney, Kilmoyley, Ballyheigue etc are all good spots. Are there other factors you're considering as well re looking for a house? Buses, shopping etc?
(Just to throw the proverbial cat/spanner into things don't forget the hurling bastion of Kilgarvan in south Kerry, where a certain Jackie Healy Rae was once a champion hurler! :) )

Whatever you do, don't move to Kilgarvan.
