Highlights for summer Holidays

    Hi,
    I was thinking of getting highlights for my holiday in two weeks to Portugal.
    My hair is natural brown with some grays!
    I had highlights done about 6 years ago. Got a dark blonde and copper red/brown colour and thinking of getting the same again.
    I read blonde hair goes green in pools, is that permanent?
    I know the sun fades colour but was going to go a few shades darker and get a good sun protection spray for hair, any recommendations?
    Would it be a total disaster to get highlights before the holiday?
