I guess people have heard about this week's Bake Off scandal? One of the contestants had a week of professional training (in 1984!), but it was more than 10 years ago so she is within the rules.

    More here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/11792712/Great-British-Bake-Off-favourite-has-professional-training.html

It is also rumoured that the name of the winner has been leaked (so be careful if browsing news sites).

With my mod hat on - if anyone names the alleged leaked winner here, they will be banned from the whole TV category for two months...

Amazing how seriously people take this proramme! A lot hinges on the judges, I think.

As if a week of professional training in the 80s is an advantage. I read a Daily Mail article (I know, I know) about it and they were saying that a bunch of the rest of them are semi-pro because they have blogs and instagram accounts that show off their baking. What an absolute rag that paper is, looking for controversy where there is none.

I really hope I don't accidentally discover the winner by browsing social media.

Why does everything nowadays have to be spoiled by people who can't just watch and enjoy a series and actually wait to see who the winner is?
I love sitting down every week watching the GBBO and seeing people's talents, seeing them improve, etc.

Then when the final arrives, it's great to see who'll win.
Spoiling it by telling people the winner now is ridiculous.

    Couldn't agree more!

I'd kill someone if they told me the winner now, that's the whole point of watching it. Anyway it's nearly time and I'm starving already

    I remembered this week! :D

Lads, im shocked!!!!!! Really wasn't expecting that person to go!

I didn't think macaroons were biscuits, so I've learnt something new today

Some of those boxes were really impressive. I loved the savoury one and the fire truck.

Dorret is starting to annoy me, as is Flora, and I love Alvin even more after he got emotional. I think the right person went.

I couldn't stop laughing every time Sue mentioned eating, breaching or getting stuck into various people's boxes.

    :pac:

I hope Sue has learned her lesson about touching people's work. That girl was devastated, when her box was smashed.

Apparently Mary let slip who goes home tonight on the radio so stay well away from social media if you don't want to find out!

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,155 ✭✭✭✭sammyjo90

think the right person went home this week

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,251 ✭✭✭Pang

The right person definitely went home this week. I would be embarrassed to present that bread 'sculpture'. So messy.

I really like Paul. The lion was amazing! At first, I was skeptical when I saw the plan but wow!

Both fab. The lion was on another level though, amazing!

    The right person went.

I thought the lion was going to be a disaster- then... wow!

I thought the breadcycle was also incredible.

Definitely the right person went tonight. I was shocked by last week's result, but this week it was no real surprise.
