Hey, just wondering if anyone knows when the next Foundation Course for Referee's is coming up in County Galway? I know I can e-mail them, but taking a long shot that someone has e-mailed recently and would know? No worries anyways.

Also, does a person need to be a member of a GAA club or have played previously to become a referee as I have a friend who wants to do the course with me who meets the above criteria. Any help apreciated

In Dublin you need to be a member of a GAA club to be a referee who is assigned games. I would presume it is the same in the rest of the country as your club membership will include insurance and membership of the GAA among other things.

You must be a member of GAA to referee.

Mainly so you cannot be asked to referee your own club
