    Hi guys
Wanted to get your input. We're heading off camping for two weeks on Sat. Were supposed to be heading for Clare but summer has seemed to bypassed the West this year. Would really love to go. What are your opinions on best county to head for?
    Thanks!
    Ruth

It generally is. The west and south have been a disaster this summer weather wise and are best avoided weather wise.

weather isnt amazing in waterford either and it doent look like it isnt gonna settle down anytime soon. its very unsettled with lower than average temperatures. very showery. saturday doesnt look too bad countrywide but sunday looks like a bit of a washout. hard to know for sure after that. bring the wet gear and plenty of warm clothes. might give you an idea what's going on:

We are in Dungarvan. Apart from one night of rain last Sunday and the odd sprinkle here and there it's been pretty decent. Today is the coolest but still sitting outside.

Things don't look too bad for the Galtees on Saturday at the moment. Rain is forecast to come in later in the day, but even if it comes in a little earlier than planned, I plan on being down low on forest tracks by then, so no problems. Hopefully we'll be able to enjoy the views this time.

op, the low pressure due has shifted a little with timing. it looks like it will hit the west this afternoon/evening with the worst weather tonight. tomorrow doesnt look amazing with heavy thundery showers. the proceeding couple of days look a little unsettled but the weather might settle down gradually as the week proceeds with the best of the weather later in the week. all subject to change im afraid. id recommend keeping an eye on these sites as the week progresses as they might buy you some time while out:

Had a great day in the Galtees on Saturday, not a drop of rain all day. Boy were we lucky!

We are going to West Cork (Bantry) on Friday for 3 days camping, first time going and kids are small so I'm hoping it will be dry, don't really mind if its dull/cold.

keep a very close eye on forecasts for the week. the current indications are showing a possibly stormy weekend but of course that could all change. id have a back up plan if i was you just encase. mt's forecast on this forum is a good starting point but keep an eye on other forecast sources.

yeah, we had planned a camping trip this weekend too with the kids, but I'm not liking the forecast

We'll hold out until Wednesday or Thursday before we decide if we'll go
