    Hello StarLord,

Nice list, just one thing I would change is the power supply!

I would usually advise people to stick with EVGA or Corsair, a PSU is a very important piece that shouldn't be overlooked just because of price. I wouldn't really trust Be quiet but perhaps other people here could say whether they've had good experience with their PSUs.

edit: Also, I would sacrifice that 2TB HDD for a smaller SSD, the difference it makes is extremely significant and you can always add an HDD later.

BeQuiet are one of the best PSU makers. You'll only need a 500w for your needs, should be about €60.
Gigabytes Gaming G1 970s are only 330-340 for the exact same thing.
You could lose 40-50 by dropping to a cheaper motherboard, your call there.
Switch HDD to a WD Red, higher speeds, longer warranty. Think the 2tb Reds are €90
And add an SSD as HowAreWe has recommended, serious step up. You could pull a 500gb one on your budget, 100gb Windows and 400gb Games or whatever, you wouldn't know yourself with the change.
If you'd prefer to not Overclock you could drop to an i5 4460 or get a Xeon 1231v3. The i5k may serve you better depending on your modelling program.

Run all the parts through geizhals.de to knock a few euro off.

Thanks, I was going for the 600-650w range in order to try to future proof, in case in the future I wanted to add in a second card in SLI for example. (Not sure if that'd be better than upgrading the card, but was in my head anyway!)

The other suggestions have been great, thanks guys!

Just note: all the 500GB SSD's seem to be out of stock on HWVS and it doesn't say when they will be back.

    Damnit HWVS!

Trying to price around a few other places, coming up with the likes of the below from other sites:

    Komplett|
    i5 4690K|€259.00
    Coolermaster N400|€49.99
    ASUS Z97-Pro Gamer|€149.00
    Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB|€109.00
    Coolermaster GM 550W|€69.00
    WD Red 2TB|€99.99
    MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4GB|€404.00
    Total|€1139.98

    Mindfactory|(via geizhals.eu)
    i5 4690k (Tray - no fan)|€237.79
    be quiet! Shadow Rock 2|€38.39
    Bitfenix Shinobi|€54.55
    ASUS Z97 Pro Gamer|€127.85
    Corsair Vengeance 16GB|€102.59
    be quiet! L8 630W|€77.90
    WD Red 2TB|€91.56
    MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4GB|€356.51
    Shipping|€59.99
    Total|€1147.13

Only €8 difference, so might be worthwhile going for the German one for the better cooler / PSU etc... Any tips or changes suggested?
(Going for the Z97 MBs to better avail of the options to overclock the K processor, no real brand attachment with them.)
Haven't calculated including a SSD either.

I'd go the German one for your reasons. Both solid builds

I would never leave out the SSD. Just because of how much performance and use you get out of little investment. I got my 120gb SSD for around 60 euro on Amazon and the difference was immense. It's more than enough for your OS, some core programs and 2-3 favorite games, depending on size. I let a 1.5tb SATA do the storing.

That shipping! Thankfully you're spending enough to justify it, but even then...

Have you a need for 16GB of RAM? Twud save you 50 quid or so.

When you're shopping from mindfactory, ignore cases and screens, that's where the extra E30 is coming from - they have a separate warehouse for large items. Buy any cases or screens locally if you can find a good price, or through amazon.

When your spending that kinda money on a rig, buy a better PSU something with an eco mode or rifle bearing on the fan , dont just look at wattage

    ASUS Z97 Pro Gamer|€127.85
    Corsair Vengeance 16GB|€102.59
    be quiet! L8 630W|€77.90
    WD Red 2TB|€91.56
    Crucial BX100 120GB SSD|58.32
    MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4GB|€356.51
    Windows 10 64 bit|€107.50
    Shipping|€29.99

You can get a Windows 7 key and upgrade for €20 or a Windows 10 key from Reddit for €30

Be careful with that, there was a thread about it on pcmasterrace and I'm not sure it's very safe. Then again I could be wrong.

Yeah, I'd be very wary with Windows license keys unless they're from well known sources.

What was the problem there gumbi? Most of us here have them no bother

Can't find the big thread (am on phone at work), this is best I could find.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/3ezn7b/we_should_make_a_list_on_safe/?

It's not an absolute no-no, but it's not perfectly safe either it seems.

It was mainly about one particular seller, who has been removed from it. Lots of people coming out to say S5ean is legit and reliable in these threads though, that's who many here seem to have gotten their keys from.
